Donating more money makes the staff develop players?
And I already donate what I’m comfortable donating to WeWill but thank you for the tip!
That’s certainly a rosy way to paint the picture. Seems odd that everyone got better but yet we had worse results with sophomores + a senior than freshman + a junior.
I get that you don’t want any constructive criticism about the staff or players but that doesn’t mean we cannot significantly improve throughout the program.
Now that last statement I agree on..it was your saying they showed no substantial improvement that I was countering. Additionally you said over the last ten years. I’d say winning the conference tourney and getting to the final the last two years was a good outcome.
The Dance is what people care about. You can win 10 big 12 tourneys in a row, but fail to do better than a S16 every once in awhile will dog your program.
Money has nothing to do with developing players over the course of their careers. That 100% belongs to the coaching staff. The entire staff. Pretty obvious they don’t do that as this staff has been in place for 15 or more years. The early fennelly years had Brenda freese, dawn abrahamson, robin pingeton and jack easley. All have run programs or still are. Easley is director of player development at Ok st.
I don’t mind criticism as long as it’s valid. You’re jumping from one angle to the next to make your point whatever that is.
A. Players do improve from year to year. They have and still do.
B. Annual results are more a product of numerous factors…in our case the Q1 losses this year wasn't about players coming back not improving, but more about the new players not meeting expectations. Other factors are the improvements in personnel other teams made. Look at TCU and OSU as prime examples.
A lot of what you describe here is at the coaches feet.
Speaking truth! People want to focus on CBF and that’s it!! Audi was thought to be years from playing! She started as a freshman! Senior leadership has lacked with young talent. Do they still have room to grow?? Hell yes! I don’t see them content with the results. I’ve not seen them act miserable or say things that make you question how they feel at Iowa state! Time will tell!
Well Brenda Freese has had a great coaching career no doubt on that one. Jack Easley retired a year or two ago and did well at ISU but most his coaching career was at Okie St. Pingeton just go fired at Missouri after a number of down year's and rehired at Wisconsin Today and Katiee Abrahamson, who I assume you are talking about has a sub 500 record at Georgia. Now all those coaches have had success along the way, all learned the trade from CBF. Of the recent Transfers out of the program which ones have really developed any better at there new school. Lexi has done well at North Carolina but she is exactly the same player there as she was here, stats are pretty even at both. Aubrey Joens played about 3 minutes a game at Olahoma, Fritz has struggled at 2 different Schools and Bristow barley made a difference in Lubbock.
I would love to see a player go from a role player to a star and some can but those are very few and far between. Hopefully this team sticks together with a few helpful additions. KJ, AUDI, ADDI, KELSEY, HARE, SYDNEY, AILI, LILY, WILSON All can and many will improve over this last year. I look forward to this next team and seeing what they can do.
CBF has been a Head Coach 37 years, won 800 games, that in 22 games a year. Won 25 NCAA Games, currently the 3 winningest active coach in the game. He deserves praise for what he has done. Yet many want to force him out. I just do not get it.

I usually am in agreement with you but I'm going to take off my Cardinal and Gold glass and look at a few things from a pure numbers perspective.
Audi: increased her scoring but she also put up nearly 97 more shots than last year and 63 more FT too which led to that . Defensively she still has some work to do and needs to shoot a better FT% for as much as she gets fouled
Addy: saw an increase in points but a slight dip in rebounds and 3pt%. The total stats are very similar to her freshman year. Still a heck of a player but she didn't make a big jump in production
K Joens: played the same number of minutes as last year although saw a bump in minutes later in the season. down slightly in about every statistical category but she is trending the right way with more playing time
AJ: I love her game but she needs to be more selfish sometimes and shoot the damn ball. She didn't make a big improvement statistically either this season.
These 4 are the key to success next season. Audi is already and an elite level and Addy is not far behind but Jackson and Joens have to take a big step forward in their production and hit some open looks they get when the defense is locked in on Audi and Addy.
It is easy to blame the transfers for the issues this season, but we returned 5 girls that started games last year. Four that started a lot. All played a significant roll this year too, but to say they made significant improvements from last year to this year is incorrect in my opinion. The team’s results didn’t support that. We need better player development and we need to get some transfers to fill our gaps. Both are Bill’s responsibility. If he needs to change his staff to improve development, then that is what he must do. If he needs a PG and a PF, then he needs to go find them and convince them Iowa State is the right place for them. We had high expectations this year and we were disappointed. Next year can’t be the same. We have too much talent to waste it.
Collectives can arrange contacts for your first category without any money funneling through the collective. To me that is still a player getting money to come to the school since that contact isn't made if they are going to a different school. Call me a skeptic but I don't believe that HVL only got NIL money without any influence from TTU on any of it. She is a national brand and I'm sure something traveled with her but I'm also sure she was able to get help from TTU in monetizing her time in Lubbock regardless of what claims the coach makes.
By improving your own team and personnel to compete against those teams. Whether that is lineups, skills, schemes, etc.
I just respond to the haters and comments that have little merit. I get tired of the baseless claims people continue to make about the players and coaches. What those claims typically really amount to are just attacks on CBF because they don’t like him.
