Incredibly sad that we have a fanbase that would make him feel that way. He played hard, helped get us to #2. I cant imagine a worse look when you're trying to recruit.
I didn't take the post as pointed toward the fan base. Sadly, in the modern social media era, negative comments are pretty common when a team loses or disappoints. But I haven't heard of any overtly negative comments directed toward Jackson.

I took his use of the word hate, to mean disrespected. Could be he felt the staff didn't view him as a key to next years team and undervalued him from an NIL perspective. That would be consistent with TJ's comments a couple weeks ago to Fran Fraschilla about Dishon's effort needing to improve. That's about the worst comment TJ could make about a player.

IMO, he was a bad fit for what our coaching staff tries to do on defense. One Dishon Jackson on our roster would work on the defensive end. But we had 3 players of the same ilk in Jefferson, Jackson and Chatfield. That falls on the coaching staff last spring. But seems like they want to go another direction for the 25/26 season.

I don't like the player turnover, but it's a reality of the pay player's era. And it cuts both ways- players are free agents which allows them to maximize their visibility and pay. But it also means coaches have to churn their roster to consistently be a Top 10 team.

You knew here? He was trashed regularly on these boards.

I think Jackson hurt us against Ole Miss. He had a -15 in just 16 minutes, the worst of any Cyclone.

If he's equating fan criticism to "hate" or being disrespected he's thin skinned. Do you seriously think a player would transfer because of fan criticism on a message board? If you can link me some vicious, hateful posts by fans on CF, I will change my mind. But I'm on here everyday and didn't see anything over the top.

According to CW the players met with the coaching staff today. If TJ was committed to Dishon next year, he would be back. But pretty obvious by Oscar Cluff visiting on day 1 of portal free agency that TJ and staff wanted to go a different way than Dishon Jackson. And that change in direction has been in the works.

I am sure the loss yesterday is still raw for Dishon. And less than 24Hrs later he finds his best option to play college hoops is a new school. It part of what stinks about portal & NIL.

Agree in theory, but little of the negative comments on this site, let alone X would classify as criticism.

Said nothing close to insinuating this. You’re a wild guy who sees the world in wild and amazing ways.

It doesn't surprise me. Dishon has the size and weight to be a force, but he had hands of stone and got into foul trouble way too quickly. I think the Big 12 is a little too fast for him and it caused him to commit a bunch of fouls.

Didnt Big Rob have the same issue? What happened by the time he left? He was a fan favorite and had made leaps in his skillset. IMO he just needed more time.

So you have no examples of where fans were hateful or trashed Dishon on CF, X or any social media platform?

If posts are common enough, then hateful/trashing links should be easy for you to find.

In your argument, if you are being wishy washy and want to characterize posts as "criticism". Then sure you will find criticism. But there is hardly a coach or player that doesn't face criticism when they have a bad game or team lose.

No problem with that as long as he knows it works both ways. I'm sure TJ has expressed to him if he doesn't have a firm commitment he may get recruited right over.
I'm sure TJ has expressed to him that he will be recruited over regardless of whether or not he enters the portal. If a better 5 is available TJ is not going to avoid recruiting him even if he has a returning starter at the position. Any returning player will have to earn his spot in the lineup.

Also in interviews he really seemed to have a full appreciation for the fans and program.

While I agree Big Rob made strides it was coming from a long way off.

He also could provide what they needed defensively.

I'm confused about the tweet. What does he mean?

People likely went after him on Twitter etc.

Maybe some guys don't want to be treated or viewed as video game characters that should just max out every night because fans said so.

Seriously... no idea who would have even thought to single him out for grief this year. He was a role player, and I thought he played his role pretty well.
