With all the guys who transfer out of these smaller programs you probably will not see it as much.

Not the same anymore
Yep, the spread between high major and mid major has never been bigger it seems so we're less likely to see real upsets and I'm ok with it because these low to mid major teams make for boring matchups in the 2nd round as they usually get blown out after the upset.

I was pondering that earlier. It seems like transfers have leveled the playing field between the elite programs and the next tier down, but I'm wondering if the lower level schools took a step back. They tend to lose their best players and then have to rely on high major transfers that couldn't hang at that level.

I hate both teams so 4 OTs would be good

I don't really hate Ole Miss; they've been the SEC team I've cheered for in the past... but I have no particular attachment to their team now, nor do I really particularly care who wins this game and who we play next.

Man, the selection committee really struggles with the low seeds some times. Flipping between our game and the Alabama vs. Robert Morris game. Robert Morris was so much bigger and more athletic than Lipscomb, it was night and day. Maybe they normally can't shoot, I don't know. They just looked significantly better and more dangerous as a 15 seed than Lipscomb as a 14.

Having said that, Lipscomb must have done something right to become a top 100 Kenpom team.

That infamous Florida Gulf Coast team that went to the Sweet 16 as a 15 seed in 2013 is another one that looked really good, shockingly athletic and terribly under seeded for their talent.

I don't think it's completely fair to compare the results when everyone has their scrubs in vs. as part of the regular rotation.

I still kind of wish Watson would get a few minutes in some of these games just to see what happens. If he sucks, then he doesn't play any more. But more often than not, it seems like he is solid enough to have earned 5-8 minutes per game.
Watson is an odd case to me. He only does a couple of things really well, and the things he doesn't do well, he REALLY doesn't do well and hasn't really gotten better at doing since he arrived. Sadly.

I have never seen him play bad. He hustles whenever he does play and brings some energy off the bench. I thought 5 minutes per game would have been good to get some other guys a little more rest.

The answer lies in the matchup. Alabama is a set of folding lawn chairs defensively. They run Hoiball just with better athletes. Can't remember whose lunch money FGCU stole but am guessing it was a similar deal

Good win, any day you win a tournament game is a great day. I’m not reading much into it though, Lipscomb was badly overmatched at every position, we had mismatches everywhere. Rest up and see what happens.
