I don't see it as a red flag if a true frosh SG isn't playing PG over a sophomore PG who has had more time in the program.
If they were equivalent recruits coming out of high school you'd have a point, but alas, they were not

Sometimes recruiting stars only go so far vs. fit for the moment and time in a program can win out for the position someone is there to play.

But please, let's keep arguing about playing time for development from a 16 point road win for a likely 3 seed going to their 4th tourney in a row.

In a sport that is extremely old there aren’t that many impact freshman anymore outside of guys that are clear one and done.

I don’t know why it is so hard for some to get that.

Milan played a lot his first year, I guess I got my hopes up for the same for Nojus.

I wouldn't consider a guy coming in for a couple spot minutes an impact guy

Yes, only guys that are listed with the same position can sub in for guys with that position. Don't really understand how we can do that with 8 guys playing each game though?
Get what you mean, but Nojus is a true 2/SG. He’s not a combo. Kelderman knows the offense at that position and did a fine job today. I don’t ever want to blame a player but I think it probably has more to do with Nojus not being able to fill those spot minutes.

Well unless UCF makes a BIG comeback with 12 minutes left against West Virginia we will be playing the winner of the Oklahoma St.-Cincy game who have to play each other again Tuesday after just playing today.

What’s the point here? TJ felt he was our best option. He played 4 solid minutes. We won a game on the road by double digits, and we’re talking about this? Things are good!

It was sarcasm.

TJ does need to check CF more often though when planning with staff to see if they're doing it right though.

*that was also sarcasm.

Nice win. It was one of those games where a win doesn't move the needle much but a loss would be far more damaging so glad they took care of business. Not getting a top 4 seed hurts but just gonna have to win 3 in a row at Hilton South and I think a 2 seed isn't out of the realm of possibilties especially if Houston is one of those wins. Hopefully Gilbert will be ready to go.

Wonder if they will rest Gilbert this week as well and try to get him close to 100% as possible. Groin injuries are known to linger.

We'll actually have to win four in a row to win the whole thing I think.

TJ said postgame they expect he'll play Monday.

If you look at it, this team has gone wire to wire Top Ten (may end up just outside on the next poll) and is two overtime games away from being the 2 seed in the Big 12, and that's with numerous key missed starts. Could have been better for sure, but this team is still historically very, very good in the history of Cyclone basketball.

4 yes, 3 was a typo on my part. Good news about Gilbert, they'll need his ability to blow by defenders even if it comes with some headscratching turnovers.

I would hope so, unless he was incredibly close to 100% already today. Big 12 Tournament is (mostly) meaningless for this team. People have been saying we're a final four contender for most of the season, the Big Dance is where the rubber meets the road for this squad.
