KSU is on the hook for $18 million if he’s fired before April 2026.

He’s got a few more losing seasons before he’ll he paid to stop coaching
I feel sorry for them.

Well...not

Do you know his yearly buy out? And how many years left on his contract?

His contract is through 2031

They owe what’s remaining on his base deal, which is a lot

Should K-State choose to fire him before April 30, 2026, it would owe Tang $18.7 million.

It drops by basically $3 million each April 30th, which is late to be firing in the transfer era.

So the Wildcats would owe him $15.75 million, $12.75 million, then $9.7 million, then $6.5 million and finally $4.4 million or the remaining unpaid base salary on his contract in the final year of his deal.

He’s going to be the butt of Big 12 jokes for awhile

I'm glad they are stuck with him.

KSU fans I've met in person are normal/reasonable people but their vocal online contingent is maybe the most obnoxious fanbase I've encountered. They seem to think that lucking into an all-time great football coach who made them relevant for Big 12 championships for a bit has put them in some sort of exalted quasi-blue blood status as a program / athletic department.

I'd say they got close to that but haven't really been there in a decade.

We shouldn’t lose to them in anything.

Thx for that info FinalFourCy! Good to know that one of our favorite teams in conference might have bit off a bit more than they should have. Their money might be wasting away while Tang is there. Such a shame. You hate to see it.

I know many here have hated K-State for some time. I was never a fan, but... But this past year I have become an all-out enemy of everything K-State, much of it due to Tang. He is so much fun to dislike.

I'm sure not all K-State fans are bad. Many of us, including me, just have a very bad leftover taste from the Tang incident of last year, and then so many of their fans just jumping on the Tang express, and putting up with his excuses. It brought their whole fanbase down.

Their fanbase can recover, and become less disliked by us Cyclones. K-State social media types such as John Kurtz do not help their case. I've gone out of my way never to listen to him again.

KSU fans I have met in person have all been fine to great. EMAW on the other hand are completely overboard obnoxious.
