He was our leading rusher in '06 I believe.

I'd like to see ARob's receiving stats next to these as well.

But I'm not sure what the relevance is. I already believe him to be the best back on our current roster and think he'll be our #1 guy all season barring injury.

Absolutely no relevance, just got bored with the Arnaud threads.

Why are you comparing him to greg Colman instead of Stevie Hicks in 2004.

That list seem completly random.

I wish Koch WAS our feature back in 2006 - we might have won a few extra games by having a guy that could pound the ball up the middle.

74 carries - ZERO yards lost. Even when everyone in the whole stadium knew he was getting the ball. The Mizzou game of '06 was a lot of fun to watch, old school running at its best.

Unless he takes a tire iron to ARobs knee, I don't see Bo starting. Bo's got talent, but I think ARobs is already a favorite of the coaching staff.

A lot of fun, and bittersweet. For one, it was Ryan's last game as a Cyclone. More alarmingly, it made us all wonder, "Why the hell didn't we see this the rest of the year?" :realmad::mad::arghh:

Whoa, whoa, whoa. We do not need any Tanya Harding moments at ISU. Not that it would surprise me, I mean - we do have some of the worst luck ever.

But damn...

It sounds like Herman's offense is entirely out of the shotgun. What does that mean for our backs? I think we have talent at this position and just wonder if they are going to be featured enough. Would that style favor either A-Rob or Bo? If I am a Jeremiah Schwartz I would be looking around. That doesn't seem like a fit.

Great question! Anyone have a feeling as to how the R-backs will be used in a Shotgun formation? Blocking, bubbles, 4th or 5th receiver....

Honestly, I think running out of the shotgun is pretty par for the course now-a-days. Look at West Virginia when they had White and Slaton/Devine. Almost ALWAYS lined up in the shotgun, and as anyone with a pulse knows, they tore it up. They will find a way to incorporate the talent either through zone read/option type plays, screens, bubble passes, etc. If Herman is who we think he is (thanks, Denny), then he'll utilize the existing talent.

According to online sources it was Hermans M.O. to still run shot gun in 3rd and short. I dont like the idea of exclusive SG formation, but I'm not against 75% of it.

Of the 21 running TD's scored by Rice last year, 12 were by the QB. Sounds like even on goal line situations, the ball will be in the QB's hands.

I believe that Rice was weak in the RB ranks. Hermman's biggest strength is utilizing the talent that he has available.
