I'm pretty sure in the last 30 years or so I've never picked a gas station based on the price. I've also never based a decision on whether to go someplace or not on the price of gas. Now if it ever came to the point where some stations were $3 a gallon and others were $8 a gallon I'd start paying more attention to where I buy it.
So you’ve also never noticed if gas prices were high or not because you need it so just buy it? I didn’t know so many people just ignored gas prices. So strange.

It's more about when it idles the fan for the heater seems to act like it's running out of power.
If you're seeing symptoms of power loss or jumping while running, get your alternator checked out. Radio and dash dimness changing with accelerator inputs, headlights getting dimmer and brighter, HVAC fans getting stronger and weaker based on accel...stuff like that. Alternator will kill batteries as well and will leave you stranded on the road when it completely fails.

That said, six years is end of life for a normal car battery, too. It had a good life if it's still running now.

Are you sure there is ethanol in their premium? I didn't think any premium had ethanol. If that isn't the case I may need to start paying more attention because my small protest against growing crops for fuel involves never buying ethanol if I can help it.
You can find 91 with ethanol...not sure if anywhere I've seen around here sells 93 with ethanol. Look clearly at pumps for those big NO ETHANOL stickers near the handles. Ones without it should be marked as such.

I honestly thought that’s how most people existed. I am not going out of my way for .10-.20 difference.

If it’s a huge gap, yeah probably.

I notice the price when I'm filling up but if some other station was $.20 cheaper that is less than $3 and not worth the effort of researching it. I don't get why people are so fixated on gas prices and then do stuff like spend $8 for a coffee.

Even if you have some massive 20-gallon tank, a 0.20 cent / gallon difference is at most $4

You still pay attention to if it’s $5 a gallon versus $3 though right, in general?
In some ludicrous hypothetical where two stations are $2 away from each other, yes, I'd probably go to the $3 station. Unless it's too people-y, gross

I didn’t make the comment as a comparison of individual gas stations, I made it to someone who said they don’t pay attention to the price at all.

I can't say the price of gas holds any amount of space in my brain outside of when I need to fill up my car because it's a) under a 1/4 of a tank or b) we're about to drive hours away. And that mostly consists of "Huh, it's at 2.44 now" or when we're filling up leaving my parents house "Why is gas 0.40 more in the Quad Cities than it is at home"

I am not really sure what you are trying to say?

Do I physically look at the price when filling up my tank? Yes.

Do I look at it and decide what my next move is? No

Does it ever cross my mind outside of when I am putting my card in and begin filling up? No

Do I wake up and check the prices? Never

I notice because I log my fill ups and the stations by me that sell top tier gas can have consistently wide variances between them.

Gas is cheap. Around 75 cents worth will move me ten miles!

Not exactly sure.
I’d have to look at your logs to determine if this is correct :jimlad:
I think most pay attention but know there isn’t much they can do. We may change out vehicles if possible but if we are going to a game, we gotta have gas. So maybe we take food or eat at a cheaper place then what we usually do.
