I don't understand the pessimism vs Iowa. I think ISU wins. Cyclones are beatable obviously as second half of Auburn showed, but takes a great team or horrible play by ISU. I don't think they will be flat vs Hawks and Iowa has not been great in a long time

because this game has trended with the home team killing the visiting team in recent years. Iowa has beaten some really good ISU teams in Iowa City. It is their Super Bowl, they have the emotional edge and the propensity to shoot lights out in this game.

The home team has won 8 of the last 10 in this series. This will probably be the biggest and most rabbid crowd they will have at home all year. Their players are going to throw everything they have at us. It's not going to be anywhere near as easy as the quality of their players and coaching would suggest.

Who won in the past means nothing. Different teams

ISU wins as expected

They'll try to get Gilbert in foul trouble and maybe even throw a ringer out there to try to get him to react to dirty play and throw him off.

Probably really try to hassle Jones a bit too.

I expect to beat Iowa but it's not impossible they could win. I don't think it says much about us vs them either. It's a rivalry game.

Go check the scores of our last four trips to that building and see if that makes the case for pessimism a little more clear.

I hate this game way more than the football one but yeah there will be virtually nothing to take from it on the season no matter the outcome.

How many guys on the current roster get drafted to the NBA? 2? 3 tops? Relax on that statement.

Don't get me wrong, the roster is incredible for what TJ wants to do, but the talent doesn't compare to places like Duke and Kansas.
There’s only 60 kids picked in the NBA draft every year. If this team had 3 draft picks, it would absolutely be a top 5 team based on talent alone.

Iowa state will kill Iowa too. Should only be close for maybe the first 12-15 minutes of the game, then ISU pulls away. Iowa doesn’t have the talent to keep pace.

Iowa came close to upsetting a well coached and talented Michigan team on the road. Thursday is going to be terrifying.
