Same story as football though. Need to get healthy. Lipsey’s shoulder concerns me that it’s going to linger all season.
Has to be encouraging how good we are with a limited Lipsey.

Kinda..football was never a legit top 15 team this basketball team can actually be elite.
This team has a top 3 roster in the country. Quite possibly the best guardcourt in the game. Legit opportunity to make a Final 4 and compete for a national title.

The football season was incredible. That team was never going to have an opportunity to compete for a national title tho.

Some of the Hoiberg teams of the past and even TJs team last year were great but had glaring definicies. At this point in the season, Im not sure this basketball team has any glaring weaknesses. They will very much have an opportunity to end the season in top ten for BOTH Kenpom offense and defense. If Lipsey is healthy and playing at an elite level come February/March, this team can win a national title.

When we lose to Iowa next week what will we have next?
I think we'll win easily but I'm fully prepared for a loss to Iowa because they aren't a terrible team and it's basketball. One loss, especially on the road to a rival, isn't the end of the world.

I could be wrong but that kind of loss seems to hardly be noticed by the tourney committee any more so long as it's not a trend.

Unless they really end up sucking it will be a quad 1 game on the road so it's really only an opportunity for a good win.

Take that money and donate to NIL or your child’s college fund instead now

How many guys on the current roster get drafted to the NBA? 2? 3 tops? Relax on that statement.

Don't get me wrong, the roster is incredible for what TJ wants to do, but the talent doesn't compare to places like Duke and Kansas.

I don’t take the NBA draft as the end all for CBB. They draft off of athletic potential even if it hasn’t been reached yet. Flag at Duke is going to be the #1 pick. But, his presence doesn’t mean they’re winning a national championship. It takes a team to win and you don’t typically get that from a first year player leading your team.

And with the current state of college basketball, how many teams are loaded with NBA draft picks?

How many NBA guys did Virginia's title squad from 2018 have? How about Baylor in 2019? Kansas in 2020? Each team had a couple.

You dont think Houston was a top three roster last year prior to the Shead injury? He is the only one who will play legit NBA basketball from that roster.

I think the landscape is/has changing/changed. Give me a squad full of 22 year seniors over a team full of 18 year old McDonalds All-Americans every single time.
