Work zoom at 9 bells.

How do y’all prep for a meeting at work that you know, without any doubt, is going to royally piss you off?

Depending on how safe you are with the job, ask questions for a rationale for any terrible ideas that are being implemented and when they give some canned buzzword response, ask for actual information.

This is my dream but I usually just stay quiet and vent later.

I have calls all day every day. 90% are useless.

Too many meetings, too many emails, no communication

So Sunday night at about 4 pm the power went out in our neighborhood. Was out for about an hour and a half. Probably just old equipment that can't handle the heightened load because of the heat, right?

Monday night about 5:30 power in entire neighborhood goes out. Power company website says 1200+ homes affected and should be back on by 12:30. Go to daughter's soccer game (she is reffing not playing) and watch the intersection with the dark signal on busy street. It is amazing the number or people who don't know (or don't care) how to deal with a dark traffic signal. Saw multiple close calls as stopped cars at cross street tried to negotiate the intersection as cars on the busy multilane street blew through the intersection doing 45-50. We went out to eat since we didn't want to open fridge to even grill some supper. See a power company guy walking in so I strike up a conversation about a rough week for them. I told him how we were in the outage in that area. He said that 1200+ homes is way too many for the line that is serving the area. (Luckily they are building a large apartment building in the area that will likely exacerbate the problem when open.) It is a mess and it was cooking right in front of their eyes when they opened it up. I thanked him for his work. Power came on after 11:00 but our downstairs fridge wouldn't start cooling (again). I had to unplug it and wait a few times before it would finally restart. Probably going to have to down size or replace sometime soon. We shouldn't need two fridges in the house on top of the two dorm sized beverage fridges in the garage.

Last night around 7:00 I joked with Mrs. Velo that we were behind schedule because we didn't have our nightly power outage. Just to warn me to not tempt the gods, the power went out about half an hour later. This outage was only about a minute long. Neighbor across the street texted that apparently she was drafting a text to Mrs. Velo commenting on no power outage tonight when the power went out.
:otz:

It's going to be a long summer if they don't get this fixed for good.

Well I now will be asked to do more than ever. But it’s ok but I need to “synergize more within the team to maximize my energy and it will allow everyone to calibrate with eachother”.

Mowed my mini-lawn. DND but, damn, that 70-something dewpoint. Ack.

Thinking of a quick grocery run in my lawn grubs before the forecast storms get here at supper time.

I went to the Brewers game last night, met up with someone, a lady in fact. We chat on the Brewers subreddit during games, and thought we should meet up at a game. Worked out where there was no one sitting next to her so I moved down a few rows and we watched the whole game together. Had a great time.

The only thing is she never told me her name. I know we're just strangers on the internet, but I introduced myself with my name, not as stormchaser2014 lol. If we meet up again, I have no idea what to call her.

“Hey, I remember you” might work.

Sounds like you had a great time. If she doesn’t appreciate you for who you are and what you just professed here then that’s her loss

:nausea:

I'm sorry...in the past week we got an internal email about a new process or new program initiative, and it was chockful of words like that. Have no idea what the new process is for.
