He is 9.5 so but it is a 9U team based on the date cutoff. Coach took LittleWx out from pitching, put in one of the teams best pitchers and directed him to hit the next batter because he thought he was being cocky. After he did he switched him back out. Word got around and he was relieved of his position. In his eyes it’s just baseball.
Good lord. Taking out your anger and frustrations by making a youngster purposely hit/potentially injure another youngster? I have no words for this.

My experience with youth coaches as a coach, supporter and observer would shock you
Sportsmanship is not always value one? Remember going to my nephew's little league games in town league, I was amazed/disappointed at how many people b*tched at HS kids calling a meaningless game. This was just in town not even travel league.

Does CR have a leash law? Does it cover cats? If yes to both, then you have a basis for the cats to be trapped and removed from your property. A lot depends on just how deep you want to get into it with a crazy cat lady.
By the way, my cats are all completely indoor cats, and are all spayed/neutered. That woman is NOT a responsible pet owner.
100%. We have two cats. Indoor animals and fixed.

I and the rest of my work team have been through the wringer the past two and a half months with new software coming on-line. A lot of it could have been avoided with better preparation, but we can't go back in time and fix that. The one big gaping hole that continues to be there, though, is that we never received proper training on the new system.

Fast forward to yesterday, and the rumors that had been swirling come true. Basically, they want to increase our team's responsibilities by 25-33%. (And I'm probably underestimating) A team meeting was held today, and luckily our supervisor is on our side. I had forgone the podcast I usually listen to on Thursday mornings driving in, and practiced an argument/speech just in case our supervisor wasn't totally in our corner. I was able to make my point in the meeting of 1) We need black & white documentation of how to do things on the new software and not just the piece-meal learning that's happening, and 2) If we are taking on this increase of responsibility, what is going to be our permanent compensation for it? The people making these decisions for us don't understand what we've been doing and what this means for us. I'm hoping the words "permanent compensation" will kick them in the arse to understand it's going to cost the company money to do what they're doing.

If something doesn't change to the positive for our team (increase in pay or these new responsibilities removed) I will weaponize my flex and/or vacation time that I have left.
Isn't the tech world great? We keep getting more clients but no more staff. I sit on meetings all the time for absolutely no reason.
Yesterday my team got a ticket about a client receiving random emails all of a sudden. After going through the information I was given I sent an email to the service delivery manager about it as it isn't our issue and I don't like bouncing tickets around to random teams in hopes someone eventually hits on the correct team.
His response, sets up an immediate meeting with the client so they can talk to me about it. Other people (offshore) were on the call but as normal they don't say a word. So as usual I get to drive a problem call for a problem that doesn't belong to me.

And don't get me started on training.

Speaking of sportsmanship. This was last weekend in CR (actually pretty close to @KidSilverhair )

And this morning it was also released that one of the guys that was arrested as part of that has now also been charged with sex trafficking.

To follow WX's inspiring post :( here's a little something that showed up in a "5 things" email subscription I have. Today's theme is 5 things making me happy. From the email: Animaris Rex is an 18-meter-long kinetic sculpture by Theo Jansen. Propelled by the wind, it resembles a herd of beach animals that move in unison across the sand. Art + engineering + nature. Stunning.

So this morning son wants to know why E can't jump in and go with S on a trip "because they're so close in age". I pointed out that they're 5 years apart. So then he says he meant "because they are so close as sisters". Well, so are all of the other sisters. So he now tells us S won't go without E, We will still offer to S, but if she decides not to go we'll skip her. So he says they can go at the end. Based on current info, E will likely be married by then, and we're not paying for her potential hubby & kids. But that's okay, we pay for Sarah & E and he will cover the difference for E's potential family. NO. He is NOT going to dictate how we travel, with or without his kids. I'm guessing those two will not get the trip that all the rest will get, and he will tell himself that it's because we don't care about his kids.

He just doesn't get the point that this is a trip for a) them to get to explore the world a little, b) us to spend time with grandkids without parental intimidation, c) them to get to know us better without a large group of family surrounding us and demanding attention, and c) them to get to know cousins better.

If they don't go I am available for adoption. Don't need to take my wife or kids ;)

Maybe that's what he's afraid of.

As someone with 28 first cousins on one side and 19 on the other I would have loved to go on a trip without a sibling or another cousin with my grandparents. Minus my mom's mom who is terrible.

Friday funnies. It made me feel a little less homicidal...

1. When one door closes and another door opens, you are probably in prison.
2. To me, "drink responsibly" means don't spill it.
3. Age 60 might be the new 40, but 9:00 pm is the new midnight.
4. It's the start of a brand new day, and I'm off like a herd of turtles.
5. The older I get, the earlier it gets late.
6. When I say, "The other day," I could be referring to any time between yestrday and 15 years ago.
7. I remember being able to get up without making sound effects.
8. I had my patience tested. I'm negative.
9. Remember, if you lose a sock in the dryer, it comes back as a Tupperware lid that doesn't fit any of your containers.
10. If you're sitting in public and a stranger takes the seat next to you, just stare straight ahead and say, "Did you bring the money?"
11. When you ask me what I am doing today, and I say "nothing," it does not mean I am free. It means I am doing nothing.
12. I finally got eight hours of sleep. It took me three days, but whatever.
13. I run like the winded.
14. I hate when a couple argues in public, and I missed the beginning and don't know whose side I'm on.
15. When someone asks what I did over the weekend, I squint and ask, "Why, what did you hear?"
16. When you do squats, are your knees supposd to sound like a goat chewing on an aluminum can stuffed with celery?
17. I don't mean to interrupt people. I just randomly remember things and get really excited.
18. When I ask for directions, please don't use words like "east."
19. Don't bother walking a mile in my shoes. That would be boring. Spend 30 seconds in my head. That'll freak you right out.
20. Sometimes, someone unexpected comes into your life out of nowhere, makes your heart race, and changes you forever. We call those people cops.
21. My luck is like a bald guy who just won a comb."

There are 16 of them, so it is doable in pairs. If we went individual, we would be in our 80s with the last couple. We may be anyway. Right now we'll be 77 on the last GK trip. As the 3rd youngest said: "By the time we (she & the other two her age) go, you'll be REALLY old!" Yeah, thanks, sweetie. We know!
