Eh, Prohm wasn't a good coach and he was kind of a goober, but I at least believe he was coming from a genuine place. I think Tang is a used car salesman.
I think this is myopic. Players improved drastically under Steve (Thomas, Nader, Burton) and he recruited arguably the current best PG in the world. He just wasn't a great in game coach and clearly didn't know how to keep egos in check.

KSU offense was anemic, this was a painful game to watch. It was kind of like our Baylor game if ISU had won, with Perry playing the Keshon Gilbert role.

Prohm was a hell of a recruiter if you ask me.

So you're telling me you think Prohm was a good coach?

I think he was at the wrong level but to ignore what went right is just lazy.
All I said was he wasn't good. Not exactly real hard hitting commentary. I assumed I wouldn't have to specifically mention that was in regards to his time at ISU as a high major coach, but that's what I was talking about. I feel like based on his record one could objectively say his tenure here was not good, but if you think that take is lazy ok. I feel confident the vast majority of people would agree with me.

That is way more pathetic than rushing the court for all the fans out their wringing their hands over court storming.
I've never seen a coaching staff more actively hate their fans this KState coaching staff. First the lecture on saying FKU and now stopping them from rushing the floor? Just let the kids have fun

The funny thing is I was actually drawing a distinction between Prohm and Tang saying I think Prohm is a genuine person and overall I think he seemed like a nice guy. My comments are tame compared to most when it comes to Prohm. Didn't realize you are such a Prohm fanboy. Good for you!

I don't know if anyone watched the game but I saw at least two occasions Tang was trying to make a KU player miss a shot by causing a distraction. One time Harris shot a three right in front of him and Tang clapped his hands really loud lol. He did the same thing at ISU when ISU was shooting FTs he yelled really loud. I think he is the most unlikable coach in the conference and that is saying something because Rodney Terry is a complete douche as well.

Same guys who were calling random 19 year old kids “cheating mother f***ers” a few weeks ago now think celebrating in court is somehow wrong.

Hypocrites.

I don't think it is hating the fans. I think Tang has a weird obsession with everyone liking him. He goes so far out of his way to look like he is taking the high road on everything but then he takes the everyone must like me too far that he tries to ingratiate himself with some so far that he pisses off others.

Quit trying to be everything for everyone and just be yourself, Jerome.

He kind of reminds me of the Church lady who has to be perfect in everything in church, volunteer at all the right stuff, etc. But then is the first one to be smacking her kids in the car in the parking lot because of some small affront in church that "made her look bad." It's all about keeping up appearances and not actual substance.

He's a mess.

Read some YouTube comments and he has an army of brainwashed cult fans down there saying garbage like “ thank you coach tang for fixing our broken fan culture”.

Prohm was a good PG recruiter, but I wouldn't say good recruiter overall. There were a ton of misses both at the HS level and transfers. He was also in over his head as a coach. He is one of those guys that kind of lucked into a good situation at Murray St after Kennedy left, then turned stepped into a good situation at ISU with what Fred left. But I mean just look at Murray since he took back over.

Under Prohm it was clear the team lacked game planning and preparation as our asses were often kicked from the opening tip. I think that goes beyond simply being a bad "in-game" coach, which he clearly (also) was. The only thing I think Prohm was good at was interviewing and recruiting. When it game to actual coaching (as a team) he failed miserably.

He also seems like a control freak. Can’t let his crowd do anything natural or organic. He has to go be part of it to make sure the attention stays with him.

He was also boom or bust on the recruiting trail. He hit home runs with Wigginton, THT, Hailburton, but had like 9-10 complete busts in a 2-3 year period that killed the program. Didn't find enough solid role players. His last class was an all time stinker, although it looks like Dubar ended up being a good player at Hofstra.

He does deserve credit for Burton and Nader turning into absolute studs. You're right about that.

No I just think we can move on from him. I liked him as a person but I can't deny the results weren't good. Maybe you weren't the right person to come at over this but I just roll my eyes at all the bad coach = Prohm analogies.
