How much butt hurt do you think there is on the message boards because we left starters in?
I want to add that Bill Self has 5 star bigs all the time that look lost early in the season and by March, they become a real factor. Omaha's situation is really not that unusual.Someone said that the coaches put him through a two hour workout earlier in the day, so there's no doubt in my mind that they are giving him their full attention in getting him ready to go. I'd have to think that kind of individual coaching would make it clear to the player that the staff values him and wants to help him get ready.
Also, Omaha seems like a total team player with a very low ego. I'm hopeful that he gets extra time in these next four games to get him in a groove before Big 12 play.

In the balcony? She does that during the under 4 timeout in the second half and the band plays the fight song. When she makes it all the way around (usually just before the song ends) the crowd erupts in cheers.Girl doing the victory lap with the ISU flag! Early in the second half!
Yeah, we were really surprised and thought maybe a new person was doing the audio and didn't know the script. It was way early in the second half.THAT'S when they chose to play Juicy Wiggle?!? They must have a lot of faith in the integrity of Hilton's 50+ year old concrete.
This. It was pretty clear that TJ pulled Lipsey (i think with maybe 4 minutes left??) to start the process of sitting the starters. Then Iowa starts pressing and causes a turnover. Otz turns and puts Lipsey right back in.Because Mad Fran left his in and pressed. They obviously still wanted to play at full strength so we obliged.
On the radio show with Heft there was a direct shot at the UNLV fan base.Is there video of this chunk of the post game somewhere? I'd love to see it.
Also, it feels like him specifically referencing a MW road game was a thinly veiled shot at the UNLV fan base and I am here for it.
Could be. I didn't remember exactly when it was. I thought it was the first timeout of second half.In the balcony? If there was an earlier one last night, I missed it.
It's always the under 4 and it was again last night. It's always when spectators try to leave to beat the rush out of the parking lot. And the ushers have the task of holding the entire balcony on the steps until the flag comes thruCould be. I didn't remember exactly when it was. I thought it was the first timeout of second half.
Haha I forgot about this, it was a beauty! The dude (2?)who tried to throw the ball off Milan’s back and ended up throwing it out of bounds by mid court.
Yeah I'm not super sad about it but this was the last real opponent of the season before Big 12 play (although some of these teams coming up might be better than Iowa lol) so it would have been nice to see Omaha play. And I just wonder how he feels about it, hopefully they're all on the same page about gradually getting him more playing time. But otherwise not much to complain about!
I wonder if they are planning to redshirt him. Can't they participate in 8 games and still redshirt? Doesn't seem logical to me when he looks to be at least a good role player. Especially if we loose another big.Someone said that the coaches put him through a two hour workout earlier in the day, so there's no doubt in my mind that they are giving him their full attention in getting him ready to go. Someone should find a way to tweet that at that crazy UNLV woman that hates TJ.On the radio show with Heft there was a direct shot at the UNLV fan base.
Yeah, and IIRC, that was at the end of an offensive set where we were moving their defense around at will.
Can't wait to see it. Anyone have a replay? That was such an amazing play - not just an interception, but he launched in the air and dished to Gilbert before a hard landing. Just totally sacrificing his body to take the ball and give a teammate an open look. Blew the freaking roof off Hilton!
I don't get up for the big bball games all that often, but this one might be top 5 that I've attended.
