This is the first time ive seen you be somewhat positive. That CANT be a good sign

A complete misnomer perpetuated by posters like isufbcurt who seemingly search for any negative to downvote while never pointing out anything positive I say.

Right now we are an okay team that can be competitive, even against some good teams, depending on how we play (in a particular game) and the competition. Since the Ohio and Iowa debacles we have typically played well against crap competition, struggled against the elite/talented (OU), and have been hit or miss against the teams on the next tier (good against OSU...so so against KU). BYU is a ****** team, that has been completely unimpressive, and I expect to win, potentially by more than two scores.

But, so the haters aren't left completely without "food" I will say I expect to get beaten the last two games. If the weather is good Texas will beat us easily. If the weather is good and Cooper is out it will be more easy. If Ewers is back, Cooper is out, and the weather is good we will get curbs stomped. I think KSU will maul us pretty good in Manhattan. Our LOS isn't good enough to win that game on he road.

I just want to see Rocco make strides, the line improve, and our staff start to show a greater willingness to adapt early in the game. The play calling and stubbornness on defense have been the most frustrating parts of the season.

LOL, I feel the opposite.

KU, on paper was slightly better than us, with more experience and better lines on both sides. While some of the dynamics of this game are daunting: the travel, elevation, and time/time zone change, BYU isn't a very good team. I think we are a much better team than them.

The wild card (potentially) is playing at elevation, something we have very little experience with over the past several years (and nothing consistent since Colorado left). If we lose it will likely be from a lack of physical adjustments to the conditions. With that said I will be very surprised if we lose this team. They are terrible.
I agree with your analysis of the matchups. Reason doesn't really have anything to do with it. My gut is usually wrong when it comes to ISU so that probably bodes well for tonight.

I've had those feelings before as well. What helps (this year) is that our special teams have been fantastic and it's helped eliminate the debacles and one of the biggest reasons we've handled lesser teams.

We just need to avoid the killer mistakes. A TO is fine, but a pick 6 isn't. Given up a first down for a busted coverage is recoverable but given up HUGE plays or TDs from guys shitting the bed (Freyler, Nikkel, Thompson) are not. If we are to lose I think both of these things happen. I just don't think BYU is good enough to win without us being our worst enemy. By ISU standards we've done a much better job (on the whole) given the quality of team we have.

The odds of this team being better than mediocre were close to zero. I just want to see improvement to build toward next year, some confidence the line won't be a ******* mess next year, and for the staff to manage the games a LOT better than they have. I think those expectations are fair and reasonable.

With LOS improvement (both sides), continued growth at QB, and some portal adds (LB is a disaster...needs to address that in a big way) this could be a pretty good team next year.

So I think with ku loss...if osu loses one more and we win out, we have a good chance of making b12 champ game?

Also of note WVU oklahoma. We want WVU to win

If this was a home game, tailgate lots would only have been open half an hour right now.

We need a KU loss, an OU loss, an OSU loss, and a Iowa State victory gives Iowa State a chance to control their own destiny for the Big 12 Championship game.
Well looks like we are close to 2 out of the 4 happening so far. Interested to see what OU looks like with not as much to play for.

If it looks like this after today I will never be so confused about standings in my life

Texas 9-1 6-1
OU 8-2 5-2
OSU 7-3 5-2
KSU 7-3 5-2
ISU 6-4 5-2

Sure but it's still interesting to know what the tie breakers are if the season ended after today. OSU beat OU and KSU, OU beat us and we beat OSU, no clue how to sort that out
