When I bought my last car two years ago, one of the cars I looked at was a GM car. They tried to upsell me on a feature that would flash the brake lights intermittently when you took your foot off the gas, thus warning those behind you that you might brake. This was a monthly subscription. In the past two years, I only seen this on the road 2 or 3 times.
It's called Pulse. When I bought my Kia up in MN, the sales guy met me at the door and said "We accidently installed Pulse on your car and it unreversible but I know we had a set price so there is not going to be a charge". My understanding is that it's basically a $30 box spliced into your brake wires that the dealers try to charge between $300-$600. If you haven't used the brake within the last 5 seconds, it will flash(Just 3rd light) 4 times but then if you continue to use the brakes, it will just act normal until there is a 5 second gap again.

I wouldn't pay 5 cents for it and wish is wasn't even on my car. I don't want other drivers thinking that I was dumb enough to buy it.

I think he bought it to reveal what was being done with it (which is currently being litigated successfully in court).
That aspect was not anything nefarious or at least I haven’t seen any evidence of that. Organizations providing feedback on what they think should be removed is integrated into the software. There is really no difference between what I’ve seen done and you or I using the report button.

Related to this discussion of making everyone pay for Twitter, it's also worth remembering that since Musk took over, he's announced shtty idea after shtty idea and then walked most of them back after people who actually know stuff inform him of how shtty they were. There's a decent chance this never comes to pass.

I don't get why people are still discussing this. If you don't like what Elon is doing with Twitter/X, leave the platform. There are plenty of options now. Why waste your time ******** about something you hate. I use to like Digg, they changed some things that I didn't like, so I went to Reddit. Cyclone Report use to be cool. then it wasn't so I moved to CF.

It's a train wreck. Hard to look away.

It is bar none the best platform for following recent/live events. You couldn't pay me to interact with people on it though.

Is complaining about the complaining somehow better than the original complaining? Take your own advice and don't read the thread if you don't like it.

The courts have disagreed resoundingly with that.

The original post was someone talking about alternatives to Twitter. Who wouldn't want to see what everyone else is using and if it's better? I guess 17 pages later there is proof that some people just can't quit .

Is it more of a case that you want to see a crash so bad but it's not happening as fast as you'd like?
How much quicker could someone want a crash? By his own admission the value of the app has completely tanked. I guess the app hasn't gone completely dark, but I don't think even the most dire of predictions would have him completely vaping a 44 billion dollar asset in less than a year. He's giving it a pretty good run though.
