So how many days until this link previews the content? Isn’t that the day $8 twitter tanks for good?
I think they really tried to capitalize on the current limitation on views, etc and moved up the launch date. That left some key features out that I'm guessing they already have in beta or soon to be.

i don't get why everyone thinks twitter is so bad or going to go somewhere lol.

twitter is the best for up to the minute news

I agree. And it's stayed pretty simple. Instagram is like reading a novel. And Facebook is visually overwhelming.

Going to be tough to beat what Twitter is... Or at least was.

Not exactly sure.
Instragram and Snapchat are what the HS and College kids I’ve been around use lately. They said Facebook and Twitter are old people now.

Reddit was my favorite for finding communities that interested me.
After 20+ years of social media, Reddit was by far my most used site, but I've come full circle and landed back on message boards for specific topics that interest me. I've outgrown everything else at this point.

Places like CF continue to thrive because you are on an island of people that have a similar interest rather than bigger places that have crossover traffic and bigger targets for trolls. It's why I don't see CF going away.

Maybe I was using it wrong but my account really did change rapidly in a pretty toxic way.

I don't have the will power to totally ignore things I view as cults (even just actual cults in my case where it suddenly promoted scientology to me) when I'm clicking a link about Arizona considering joining the Big 12. It wasn't gradual, it was a huge change over the course of just a few days.
Cults bother you? ;)

Musk has talked about creating an everything app known as X for many years. He claims Twitter is about to rebrand to X.com, which is a domain he has owned forever. I'll be interested in seeing whether anything gets lost in the transition.

I can't shake the nagging feeling that some of his financial backers have an interest in seeing Twitter fade in prominence or disappear completely. IMO Twitter's influence came as a global site that could expose autocrats and human rights violations in real time, especially with a digital paper trail.

No different from nefarious actors benefiting from local newspapers dying in communities all across America. It's the small scandals here and there that don't get the widespread exposure they should. Perhaps a local election. Or a light jail sentence due to bribery. Declining accountability.

Not sure what's happening with Threads.

Does it still need an Insta sign in? I'm not doing that

Twitter is bad. We basically know the negative effects social media has on us, from a mental health standpoint, a time waste standpoint, etc.

I haven’t been on Twitter for probably a year and haven’t missed it at all. I don’t need up to the minute news because 99% of news I don’t need to know.

Suppose it’s what type of news you want to know.

95% of what I use it for is from a sports standpoint.

Threads is a Meta product. Enough said.

WTF does this even mean? How much corporate bill **** can you cram into 140 characters?

Twitter has lost the trust of a significant percentage of their advertisers and users because they can't manage their current core business. Why the hell would anyone trust them with banking or physical goods and services?

This honestly sounds like a scam similar to a Theranos.

A small brand update is not cheap, easy or quick. A complete total rebrand done well would cost even more and take even more time…as in they should have started before Elmo even bought his king troll status if they were doing it right.
