While I would take her in a heartbeat, fairly confident the expectation her entire Drake tenure was she would be taking over for Bluder. She bleeds black and gold, and while it would be a step down, I wouldn’t be shocked if she replaces Bluder when Clark leaves.
Stranger things have happened..
Do you follow ISU wrestling?

I wouldn't think so. Her sister Macy originally committed to SLU in Fall 2021, but SLU fired Lisa Stone (former Drake Coach) last spring. So Macy reopened her recruitment and committed to Montana about a year ago. So the Donarski family has know Macy was not going to ISU over 18 months ago and based on her recruitment wasn't a P5 recruit.
Minor correction. Macy originally committed to Montana. She then flipped to St. Louis. She flipped back to Montana when St. Louis coach was fired.

As frustrated as I get with things, Bill has earned his lifetime contract. Earned it. But man, that drake coach we lost to OU stings right about now..
We lost to OU? We didn't have an opening when OU hired her, so not sure how we lost her.

Everything Jennie has done in the last two years are with Sheri Coale's recruits, not hers. Let's see how she does losing three five year starters, has to bring in her own recruits, and starts competing against Dawn Staley, Kim Mulkey, and Vic for recruits. All three of those coaches have a national championship ring, Jennie doesn't.

Heck, Jennie had a golden opportunity this year to win the Big 12 outright on their home floor, and they sxxt the bed and got throttled by Texas. Throw in, she had a very favorable 4/5 matchup in the NCAA tourney, and her team decided they didn't need to play defense in the 4th quarter and lost. People are in love with Jennie because of her offensive style, yet they forget her team was 342nd in team defense.

And, there is only one school other school in Iowa she would coach at, and that school is in Iowa City, not Ames.

She seemed like a shell of what she was in previous years. If it was caused by her being miserable I hope she finds greener pastures.

Our women's program will survive the loss. Hopefully Ryan sticks around. Having a veteran point makes the use of freshmen elsewhere much easier. 3 returning starters and a rotation post is still a nice base to go with a great recruiting class.

I believe we have one returning starter

Yes, losing King is like WBB losing Vick.
Need to find a level where they can play.
I don't think the program has ever kept the bench full of the allowed number of scholarship players. A player sitting at 9-15 on the bench is probably never going to see playing time. Either accept it and be happy with the paid education or transfer down if you want to play. That is why programs including ISU, have most of the transfers. Lexi is an exception.
I am not endorsing the current style of play. I remember when Bill was criticized for playing zone. He said he didn't have the athletes to play anything different. At least give him credit for knowing the talents the players have.

The Cyclone tailgate tour starts in May.... you can go ask all these valid questions to Bill in person. It would be interesting to see what he has to say.

Wouldn't be one of the long time assistants?

My comments on Iowa State Way were a reference to showcase 1 player and leave others to help themselves. If Lexi desired to improve her offensive skill set I am doubting we have the coaching to do that. I could care less about her internal beliefs or activism - she has a right as a human to exercise it. If that is quashed by a Luddite coach then her leaving is her business! Love ya Lexi - the baby faced assassin!

Wow
Had to resort to my dictionary on this post.
Agree with you - now that I know what Luddite means. I will unfortunately have a lot of uses for that term.

People are people are understandably panicking/upset because:

  1. We've now lost 3/4 members of our highest rated class ever to transfers, including two Day 1 starters.
  2. The Big 12 is down. All we had to do last year was beat Baylor/Texas once to win the conference and we failed in 4 opportunities, getting blown out each time.
  3. This year the Big 12 was even worse and despite returning the same core players (more or less) we had worse results (though we did win the conference tourney so congrats on that).
  4. While all this is happening the Hockroaches have a real possibility of winning a national title this year.

The Howks have a generational player. They have never won anything with Bluder of note and when CC goes they will revert to type. They will lose the next game or if they get to SC it’s over.

How would you rate Bluder at Iowa compared to Bill at ISU, success wise?
