WTAF? I hate this kind of basketball where the overly physical team gets the benefit of the doubt because “that’s their style” and the finesse team gets called for ******** fouls because they have to try to match the physicality of the other team.

Yeah, like I was saying, I don't want to say "rigged", but it's the same bull**** our men's team always has to deal with. A foul is a foul, and one team shouldn't be given the benefit of the doubt just because they're "more physical" - and thus the refs always allow them to be overphysical - and yet that always seems to work against us.

I wish the announcers would do a bit about the ISU fans in the stands. Texas women average 3600 at home so they should compare it to Iowa State averages which averages 9600. It would be good for women's basketball in general if they would make a big deal out that. Meaning it would show what's possible.

And because I like to do this stuff I just ran some numbers from the last available year of NCAA attendance numbers. Iowa State ranks 4th in combined men's and women's attendance. Here's the list of the top 9. And notice that the three schools ahead of us start with huge numbers for the men. By themselves ISU ranks 23rd in men's attendance and 2nd in the nation for women's.

Combined Men’s and Women’s Average Per Game Attendance

1. Tennessee - 25,679 ---18,000+ average for men’s
2. Kentucky - 23,202 --- 18,000 + average for men’s
3. Arkansas - 22,536 ---- 19,000+ average for men’s
4. Iowa St. - 22,433
5. South Carolina – 21,989
5. Louisville - 21, 603
6. Syracuse - 21,130 ---- 20,000 + average for men’s
7. Arizona – 20,963
8. North Carolina - 20,672
9. Iowa - 20,329

I’ll never understand a jump ball being called when a player jumps on top of a player with possession on the ground
When I was in high school, a very long time ago, that was a foul. AND a jump ball was also two players with two hands firmly on the ball. Now they call jump ball when a player hits the floor and someone from the opposing team is breathing air that is in the general vicinity. I think its mostly to keep fights from breaking out now days. But, it is just kind of BS most of the time. If you are going to do it the way it is being called now, once you are on your knees or lower and possess the ball, the whistle should be blown and the alternate possession should apply. That is pretty much what is happening EXCEPT you are allowing an opposing player to take a jumping shot at the player on the floor.

We have literally been called for fouls when we haven’t even touched them (ie. Harmon and one!) our girls get jumped on top of and no call.
And did you catch their ******* coach's comments about the physical game? It seemed to me that his poor women were getting abused by our mean women.
