Not counting individual characters, but it seems slightly more "bad" than "good." Understandable after a close loss.
FYI, it was a double digit win.

There needs to be some context here. The win was at home against a team missing not only it's best players, but one of the best in the league. That's a multiple point handicap right off the bat.

There are only so many positive things I can say about Kunc. Him and the FT shooting were easily the two most impactful components of the outcome. Jaz hit the 3, hit short jumpers, made his FTs, played excellent defense, didn't commit stupid fouls, rebounded well, helped with the press...he was outstanding.

Free throws were the other huge factor. TCU was 6-18 for 33 percent while we were 15-17 for 88 percent. Switch those percentages around and they have 9 more points, likely more with the additional front end makes while we have 10 to 11 points less. That's a 20 point total swing in outcome, literally putting us on the wrong end of the score.

I'm glad we won and you should never apologize for one. But this was far from our best game and one of our sloppiest games at home. Far from playing our best.

Great bounce back win! Great to see them handle adversity but my nerves are shot when we give up big runs.

Student attendance embarrassing for second straight game.

Our game score number on Torvik is 99 for tonight, meaning we would have beaten 99% of the teams that played tonight. By that standard it was absolutely one of our best games.

Gabe did a great job shutting down Baugh who is TCU's best player on the court. 2-7 shooting, 6 turnovers.

He more than offset any negatives he had tonight

He did, especially early. Baugh tries driving and I thought Gabe moved his feet and sealed off the lane well. Sometimes he bodies when doing that but he was very clean in the first half.

In the 2nd half there were some times he ended up on Wells and left him wide open in the corner. He got sloppier on D and was also sloppy with the ball. We are going to have a hard time winning (against good teams) with Gabe and Lipsey turning it over 5 and 6 times respectively, many of which were utterly brutal TOs.

This team probably can't make it to the 2nd weekend with these kinds of performances. We are at our best when we take care of the ball (9-12 TOs), keep the game in the half court, hit open 3s (Gabe, Grill, and now Kunc), penetrate, and rebound well. Free throws would be a bonus but we likely will never be consistent game to game (just like the last two).

We need to get back to that. When this team is right it's a legit Elite 8 threat. But when it's turning the ball over, letting teams hit in transition, missing open shots, and being sloppy on defense it blows leads and loses to inferior teams. That team wont make it past the first weekend.

We committed 16 TOs, got a career game from a guy on his 3rd game back, and benefitted from the flukiesf and most lopsided (in our favor) FT disparity of the season. Good enough to beat the bottom 300 teams in the NCAA? Probably. Good enough to beat a top 30 team that doesn't shoot 33 percent from the line? Now that is questionable and it certainly makes the 99% indicator look extremely unrealistic.

Whenever we win, it's a good game. I'm just glad we have a few more horses this year, to help carry the load, when some are scoring or not playing the best.

Agree. Gabe's defense is really good. I thought he was fine tonight offensively. Not great, but fine. Didn't force much. Missed a bunny, but hit a couple key shots. Decent game.

I think.like many Big 12 teams once they get out of league where coaches do not see you a lot they will be fine.

Teams win in a variety of ways. There are no NBA players on this team. They win by different guys having to step up. No player on any team is going to have a great scoring game every night.
Actually ISU has done very well with different guys contributing offensively. Ideally you probably want a closer. But the fact is they are competitive game in and game out because you cannot key on 1 guy.

It's a W I'll take it didn't like the scoring draughts but we survived, shot free throws lights out can't remember the last time that happened.

For someone in the know why was there such a poor turnout by the student section? The ones that were there good didn't even fill the lower section of Cyclone Alley. . Also congrats to them on extending the foam hands all the way to the top of Hilton.
