At leas the officials are evening up the fouls now. I was wondering when that would happen.

There was a brief 3-4 minute stretch in first half where Iowa fan groans were officiating the game pretty obviously...but other than that I don't even think the calls were that bad. We made a lot of stupid obvious fouls.

Didn’t expect it to be exposed this game so bad but the lack of offense this year is going to be bad. You can play hard and play great defense but at the end of the day it’s an offensive game with a short 3 point line. I think an overrated NC team gave us a lot of false hope. This team will play their ass off but are very limited.

And tonight they really didn't play their ass off or at least look like it.

Conner shoves his shoulder into Kunc and gets a foul. That was not a foul. Kunc did double over becuase he got hit mid gut. Bad call there.

I just don’t buy the constant NIL boogeyman. We got Shoon and Holmes over other schools. Why would a few guys who can shoot be different? How does Iowa have an ability to find guys who can put the ball in the basket and we can’t? It’s not NIL…
I don’t think tonight is about NIL, we’re just getting our ass kicked. I was responding to why we didn’t get a transfer shooter in this year. Top end shooters are going for a min of 500k and some a couple times that.

Shoon and Holmes picked us over some offers, but several others - even those that we absolutely would have gotten if not for NIL didn’t. That keep our ceiling pretty low this year IMHO.

It boggles my mind how bad our shooters are this year and last year. Like they have been playing basketball since they were 5 and can’t shoot

Oklahoma State and TCU in Hilton were much worse just last year. And there were plenty of stinkers from the two years before that. At least we are not getting held to 44 points this game.

I'm talking more of the defensive energy.

That wasn't lacking in those losses.

Tonight was awful everywhere.

Exactly. Utah State is the best 3 point shooting team in the country. I doubt they have any NIL.

It's hard to recruit elite 3 point shooters who can be elite defenders in the best conference because those players tend to be eventual NBA prospects.

Maybe you can coach up a shooter to defend more than you can coach an athlete to shoot.
