Let's go with that.In Japan, the middle finger is a respectful gesture meaning "brother". Holding up 2 middle fingers can mean essentially, "We are brothers". Maybe he's wishing his in-state brothers goodwill.

Were they throwing ice? That is one of their favorite activities it seems . . . .It’s their culture. We stood outside the barstool set up and the Hawkeyes were throwing stuff before the people even came out. My youngest said he say peioe spraying the crowd with their beers and drinks also. Then they pelted everyone on stage with stuff and even head shotted the pregnant woman. Throwing stuff is in their blood. You gotta stop that crap at some level or it will just keep growing
They can throw things from the stands better than Petra’s can throw the footballWere they throwing ice? That is one of their favorite activities it seems . . . .
"Did he say off sides Wisconsin?", EdI wish I could see/hear the second half with Dolph/drunk Eddie announcing it.
The wave is a great tradition, but they've milked it dry. I'm not sure it's entirely their fault as it's a marketing dream. So you get everyone trying to cash in. A lot of Iowa fans I know are sick of the overboard hype, but the typical casuals will buy Wave merchandise, pat themselves on the back, and never set foot in Iowa City per usual.
Tailgating was a lot of fun but makes you really appreciate Ames and Jack Trice. I just hate how long you have to walk to get to the stadium.
A few things I found funny in the game were the booing of Petras. I honestly feel bad for the kid because the fans hate him. He keeps getting trotted out like a pig to slaughter. The other thing was the cheering their punter got. I get it, he’s very very good but it was just funny the eruptions he got before punting lol what a joke.
I actually like IC quite a bit. The town is pretty neat, but not on gameday. On gameday the Hell Mouth opens in Iowa City.
That guy and everyone who knows him should be embarrassed. He should have just heading to the parking lot and had a beer.Classy Iowa fan there.
I've been on the receiving end of thrown ice in Kinnick every CyHawk I've attended. I missed this year but had been to 6 out of the last 8.Were they throwing ice? That is one of their favorite activities it seems . . . .
Couldn't agree more. I have been to over a dozen games there, and each time was "uncomfortable" at best. One year a drunk guy fell into and knocked over my mother in the stands. She never went to a game again.I 100% agree. I've had a ton of really good times in IC but gameday brings out the worst. Iowa City is a GREAT college town and that can't even be debated.
This is why I declined a free ticket and seat in our work suite with co-workers. The rain game in 08 was my last ISU game there and my last because of **** thrown at me. Was there with my FIL, who is a big IA fan.I know multiple fans that have said they have had a full can beer chucked at them before going into the stadium. That's enough for me to never see a game there. I wouldn't go if it was free. Their fans suck. Every fan base has a wild wing to them, but theirs is worse, seriously.
Same. I was offered a ticket Friday, but declined due to the very same types of concerns. I am also not getting around as easily as a decade ago, so those narrow aisles and long walks are not for me.This is why I declined a free ticket and seat in our work suite with co-workers. I've had the opportunity to meet and interact with both X and Noel a couple of times. They present to me as first-class dudes. They are beyond easy to root hard for.
Tailgating wise my experiences have been hit and miss, it really depends on were you are at. Up Over in the University Heights area has always been a little more chill but once you get closer to the stadium that's typically when the sh!t starts flying. Funny thing s that my worst experiences have been in the higher dollar donor parking lots.Couldn't agree more. I have been to over a dozen games there, and each time was "uncomfortable" at best. On the other hand, two of my children have attended school there, and I enjoy the wide variety of restaurants that generally are missing in Ames.
And they all sound like solid team players whenever they are interviewed. Their parents seemed to have raised them well, it appears.I can second that on Jaylin, extremely nice kid. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting X yet. I have met Jirehl a couple of times and the same goes for him. I am just so happy for Jirehls success so far. He deserves all of it.
The entitlement of the big donors is pretty amazing. They used to get booze when the serfs weren't allowed. I didn't think that was such a big deal but apparently there was way more backlash and cancelling of tickets at the time than anyone realized.Tailgating wise my experiences have been hit and miss, it really depends on were you are at. It was very awkward. I shook my head and laughed the entire time because it just amazes how poorly they treated their guy.A good friend of mine who is a Hawk fan somehow ended up with players family tickets for the game on Saturday. She said that listening to the booing and the awful comments people were making was just uncomfortable. The players families are right there!
Not sure where we disagree...Man I don't know, I see a sh!t load of Wave t-shirts.
