This is way overblown, in my opinion. I’ll give you last year as a game we blew, but 2018 we were just very mediocre before Purdy. 2019 we weren’t great, and Stanley did make some good plays to beat us. That’s not pissing the game down your leg. 2017, again was Iowa making plays to win.
2018 ISU played like they were still trying to work through their blocking schemes and slow rolled most of the game. It was weird.
2019 there were several missed opportunities including dropped INTs, fumbles in Iowa's 20, and the punt return mess. Not to mention poor angles on defense that led to big Iowa gains.
2017 we just figured ISU wasn't 'there' yet in a fun game but not stepping up when needed is a trend.
Last year topped it off with ISU flinching but that also was a part of the team's DNA.
