Some it can be hard to judge based on the style of music they're known for. What cashes a check doesn't always showcase the vocal talents to their highest degree.

Lady Gaga would be one of those I think.

I listened to Johnny Cash and Five Finger Death Punch back to back and wondered what Johnny would have been like doing a different style of music

Someone like Miley Cyrus comes to mind as well. She might not be on a top 10 list, and none of her pop stuff is anything spectacular, but there's a recording of her doing Jolene that is fantastic
