Wish we could get a webcam on that and the bridge.Dirt work has started in the RV lot. Hard to see from the road since it’s so far from the road.
It's sort of a blessing and a curse that the Iowa State Center and Jack Trice was built in the 70s; a curse in that everything looks brutalistic and a bit depressing but a blessing because that is cheap to replicate when adding new buildings and infrastructure.Sometimes I think how bland and dreary some of these projects look and then I realize it's just Iowa in the winter/early spring.
How does this walkway to Gate 1 work? It it supposed to be a walkway outside the stadium that runs alongside the walkway inside the stadium from the east side down to the gate?
External walkway that will connect the north end (ground level) to the ped bridge (concourse level).
Correct, that opened last season. The one we're talking about is apparently under construction now.I think there also is a walkway inside the stadium so that you can walk from the northeast concourse to the northwest concourse.
Yes, there was dirt work and heavy equipment in that area east of the intramural fields yesterday when I drove by.Have they started construction on the "RV Village" yet?
I went one step further. On top of my earlier recommendations to Jaimie to capitalize on the web cam, I further conveyed to him that a drone cam covering all project progress daily across the university would be something a lot of people would be tuned into. The PR alone, not to mention obscure banner advertising would be a profit center for his department.Wish we could get a webcam on that and the bridge.
Yes. There were a couple of posts about it—including diagrams—in this thread not long ago.Are they putting a new ramp on the Northeast side of the stadium right below the new one. Didn’t know if this was an access path for vendors or what. From where the new walkway is on the east side it looks like whatever they grading may connect to it. Sorry would have taken a pic but I was driving.
Thanks. That is the one I had seen. Do you know if that is just a mock-up? Or is it likely to be the actual configuration? I hoped they would put RV's back-to-back with bigger greenspace in-between. A rough count of the pads in this sketch seems like about the right total number.
