Parents are driving back from Florida, where they stayed for a month, back to Illinois. _Probably_ getting home tomorrow to a RUDE awakening weather-wise.

Not exactly sure.
Iced Coffee. Starting to drink it more, what are peoples preferences? I go for 0 sugar as a way to start to get back to shedding holiday weight. Ordered an iced coffee pitcher since this is some crazy expensive stuff otherwise.

Weird with wordle today - 3 of my 4 tries had to do with food. I'm not even hungry at the moment.

So many lessons today, but so much else to do.
Apparently, 10 of my 25 online students for the current DMACC class are high schoolers. Some were dropped for non-attendance, including one who turned stuff in after the deadline. With some coordination, we're able to get them back up and rolling, though earlier communication might help avoid that problem altogether.

In other news, the cash-in from all this is delayed, because DMACC and Drake are paying later than I planned. For that reason, I'm glad I kept the restaurant thing, but the way schools delay this stuff is absurd.

One of the guys I work with caused a major incident this past weekend. Just got off a call about that which actually went much better than I expected.
The best thing that came out of it was the fact that the client emphatically stated they do not want him taken off the account as they recognize all the good stuff he has done for them.

My daughter had a problem with an ICCC history class last year. Her guidance counselor was being a dink and didn’t get her the information that has to be routed through him since the HS pays for it until the third day of class. He wanted a power play and lost in the long run so he was pouting.

Not surprising.
Two of these students go to the same high school, though a third from that school is turning stuff in. But who knows? Maybe there are different advisors involved, or maybe some kids got a wake-up call. Now they'll have to "attend" three weeks of class to catch up, but they can fight their way there.

Feel really bad for my brother and fiancee right now. They just canceled their wedding that was supposed to be this weekend. Bride's mother just came down with COVID and at this point I'd be the only immediate family member on either side that could make it since all the other households (7 different family groups between bridge and groom) are dealing with COVID cases, prep for surgery (my dad is going in for hip replacement in 2 weeks) or wouldn't attend due to philosophical differences.

Just feel bad for them that everyone has tried to be so careful and all of the family groups have made it 2 friggin years with no issues and then less than 10 days before the wedding everything just goes down the toilet.

Schools are closing for tomorrow. I remember my senior year, the wind chill was about -40 one day, we were the only school district in the state open.

Went to a high school basketball game because I have a cousin who plays for West Marshall who was in town to play Nevada. Left a few minutes ago and told my mom to watch out because Nevada's high school parking lot has a bunch of curbs which are hard to see as the parking lot isn't lit well. Everything went fine on the curb stepping off but missed the one I had to step up on and totally wiped out.

So ****ing embarrassed. They were a few people that were out there and helped me up. Just a few minor hand scratches, but my pride was hurt more than anything. I was more worried that I had broken my phone. I'm only 41 but have speed and mobility of someone twice my age.

Good thing it wasn't worse and that people had the sense to help someone.

Several years ago I slipped and jacked up my shoulder trying to support myself. Was weird--the shoulder strain took me out of running for a couple of months. Was my first reminder that I was getting older since healing took so long.

My ribs are still messed up and that was now pushing 4 weeks ago. Extremely slow healing process it seems.

I prefer warm, black coffee. It drives the rest of my family nuts.
