Growing up I never drank water and never paid attention to hydration, so kidney stones became my curse as an adult. I know what it's like to pee gravel after numerous lithotripsy procedures, to have to pull a stent out of your own ****, and to beg the hospital for more morphine when they've already given you the legal limit.

Despite my reluctance to ever take medicine, I now religiously take 2 pills a day to lessen the likelihood for stones. And I keep a huge stone that I passed (I named him Lucifer) on my work desk as motivation to drink water like a fish.

I’ve passed 2 stones that I still keep as a reminder to do the same. Neither are near as big as the one KC said her son had removed but big enough to not try for a third.

Not exactly sure.
I foolishly thought iced tea was a good substitute for soda. Yeah, bad move. Iced tea is loaded with uric acid. Two kind of common kidney stones, calcium and uric ones. I am lactose intolerant so I don’t drink milk, so I had uric. My quick switch (without knowing at the time) to drink lemonade more was lucky. Lemonade is the enemy or uric acid. Dissolved those stones and didn’t give issues to pass. I am drinking more water, not as much as I should I’m sure.

Meh, my buddy who is a bus driver does more than that before 8 a.m.

I'm sure the mothers in this thread aren't laughing at that one.

On another note, excuse me while I go drink a huge 24 oz. Cyclone cup of water...
Your buddy delivers for than 4 kids before 8 am????

Okay, now I get it. Bad joke bud.

My second round put me in the hospital for about 5 days with sepsis. I choose NOT to play that game again!

With the way the youngest male is already eating in our house, I suspect the grocery bill in 13 yrs will be high. Balanced by the drama from the elder. I feel I'm getting the full spectrum experience either way lol.
My one year old son already eats as much as my six year old daughter. I am not looking forward to our grocery bill when he is a teenager.

My dad drinks a lot of unsweetened iced tea the past few years. I keep warning him about Uris acid but he hasn’t listened so far.

I did it to quit pop. Don’t like the water taste in our town. So one bad down but found another. Have him drink some Arnold palmers, that will help.

$300/wk back in the mid 90's. We had four teenage boys, aged 18, 18, 17, & 14, three of ours plus an exchange student; yeah, we were masochistic adding that fourth in there. We went through 8-10 gallons of milk (whole milk & chocolate milk) a week.

Happy belated birthday KC!

MrsWx and I were just discussing that we need to find a baby monitor. Friends of ours that have a 14 month old have a video one that they carry with them wherever they go in the house so they can see him at all times, just hearing him making noise isn't good enough I guess. They also just installed a camera on the headrest of their car so they can see him on a screen on the dash while in the car. MrsWx just said "I hope their second one throws them for a loop."

We have a camera and like it for seeing if they're crying but still lying down or or crap he did a 180 spin and is wide awake. Also good for the times we let them do danger naps on a bed. Think ours is the infant optics.

We had a baby monitor for our kids. For our oldest one or two we once got some other chatter. Dude was getting upset with his kid, nothing crazy but you could tell he was ticked off. Listened a bit and realized that it was our backyard neighbor (my boss the CEO). Quietly changed the channel on the monitor, apparently they had the same ones.

New furnace delivered Friday. Guessing Monday it gets installed he said. Old one still running thankfully. Getting a little more noisy but at least the month plus wait may be at the end. This is supposed to be a really nice one. (Why do I always hear either cousin Eddie or the national park tent guy from vacation when I get those responses?).
