I think the fact he gave Steve Prohm more credit for this year than TJ is why people are commenting.. It’s an idiotic line of thinking and diminishes what TJ has done.
Beard is a moron. I'll give Prohm some credit for recruiting Hunter but absolutely nothing else he did has any bearing on this year's team. He left Conditt and Jackson who have finally turned into good players because of TJ's coaching, they were horrible with Prohm.

Maybe you should read the thread first before making claims like this?

This was a really good moment for the refs. They are trying their hardest to let TexASS back in the game. They call ISU and Hunter for "a 10 sec. violation" here! Really? I counted the seconds after Ref gives Gabe the ball. Ref calls the 10 sec. violation at about the 7-8 second mark (my count) of Hunter trying to get it across. Unbelievable!

Right before this, Gabe is yelling for time-out, at about 1:21:17! The ref ignores him! Brockington gets tied up. ISU keeps the ball on the possession arrow. Too bad refs on try 1. So they get us on try #2!

Well suck it refs! You couldn't steal this one away in the end! Tried real hard though.

Thx to the knowledge and input of fellow CF's, I will take back the accusation of calling the 10 sec too soon. There is apparently a carry-over from the previous tie-up. I did not know this.

I hold to the criticism and no excuse of the Ref who "didn't hear" (ignored is more like it) Kalscheur's call for a time-out. He allows that time-out, there is no turnover there. If his hearing is that bad or selective, he should find another job.

I am started to wonder if going home for Beard is not going to work out the way he and UT fans had hoped it would. I have always been a fan of Beard from afar, liked the way that TT played defense and made every possession count.

But this may turn out like the Butler deal, that it was the assistant coach in Adams that was the real reason for the success that TT was having, and not Beard.

I guess we will wait and see.
I fear that this might be the case for TJ if/when Green leaves. Hopefully by then TJ has an established culture and recruits.

Speaking of shot clock. After we forced the 10 second violation on texas they left the shot clock at 20 and we air balled a 3. Shouldn't that have gone to 30 seconds?
Goes to 20 now apparently. I had never noticed.

UT got the same thing when ISU had a 10 second violation.
20 is correct since ISU was given the ball in the front court.
It's that way for everything in the front court -- offensive rebound, kicked ball, foul, etc.
Well, that's a live ball, so it's a full reset.
Also very good information. Rule-tweekers for me. Thank you.

He didn’t even provide TJ a foundation. Just a rubble strewn lot to clean up and start from scratch.

100% true on this but the great thing is how quickly the fan base has bought back in, students still out and a sell out though the snow kept it from being all the way full. The crowd is responsive and rowdy again, that was harder to find in even the last couple of Prohm's seasons before Covid. TJ isn't afraid to let the crowd get into it. No unnecessary time outs after momentum plays.

Texas started to get back into it the crowd would get loud on the defensive end. Hilton is FUN again.

We'll get them at home. I very much hope so also.

Beating OuT has more meaning now.

Pretty risky to expect or even predict any wins this year. As we have seen, any Big 12 team can beat you this year. This may be the strongest top to bottom conference ever. But you'll never hear any discussion of that by the press or media because it isn't advancing their agenda. Just hope everyone is able to get a win or two against OuT!

Yes, agreed! Notice I said "hope". Well aware no guarantees in this League.

And I do also hope that every other Team in the Big 12, the Remaining 8, get a piece atleast, hopefully a good chunk out of OuT, our estranged former conference mates. They so deserve it.

If you watched the Beard press conference, you did not hear Beard call TJ a great coach. In fact, he somehow brought Prohm into the equation saying TJ has benefited from Prohm being one of the best coaches in college basketball.

As a reminder, if opposing coaches start talking about you as one of the best coaches in college basketball, they are saying they are happy to have you on the schedule at least two times per season.
Iowa State was picked last by every coach, which has been proven mathematically.
Beard said he didn't pick Iowa State last.

If he didn't, then one of his GAs did.
Can't decide if some of you are worse winners or losers.

I do think the Prohm comments were a little bit unnecessary but I don't think he was trying to take away from TJ. He gave Iowa State credit multiple times. I think he just didn't want to seem like he was slighting his friend and wanted to make sure that he gave credence to the past few years even though in our minds that's not something to be remembered.

Do you have proof he was the one that voted? Thin skin is tough this time of year in Iowa.

It's the poll of the league's head coaches. He's responsible for it.

My skin is plenty thick, thanks. I have no patience for ********.
