Big test for Shapiro in the finals against Labriola. I don’t expect him to win but it would be a good sign if he competed and wrestled a close match. I watched his semifinal match- he really needs to open up his offense.

Labriola is not a huge point scorer. Hope Joel can take keep it close.

Overall I’d say an encouraging day.

Great decision to participate in this tournament. Kicking us off to a great start—up and down the lineup.

Kraisser beat Tanner Cook. I think Cook is the pinner for SDSU. The score keepers were terrible in that match

Cyclones win a bevy of semi-consolation matches so will be wrestling for 3rd at
133 (Attasauov)
149 (Johnson)
165 (Stotts and Kraisser) and
197 (Bastida) (who smoked his opponent)

Fisher will probably lose to Venz and then will be in 5th pl match.

Redding and Degen both champs. Both looked real solid today. Stotts over Kraisser for 3rd. 165 is going to be a mess this year

Wow! Carr survives in OT vs Robb. Needed a late TD to send it to OT. Not his best performance, but Robb clearly looks like he’ll cause some problems at 57.
