most gutted? Come on. It sucks. The program is still in a good place.

Come on? Man. To think it’s gutting to be preseason #7 and losing a huge number of contributors from this team, now sitting at 5-3 without a lot to play for? Yeah, I’m gutted. I’m sure the players are too and I feel for them but for us to be so close and yet so far away is tough for all of us who’ve been waiting a lifetime for a breakthrough. I get that this is by far the best the program has ever been and we could break through as soon as next season, but this is getting pretty hard.

Duh!
Are you a grown man crying about a football game? It’s not that big of a deal. Another person can say “hey, I think for an elite QB, the best this program has ever had; purdy sure lacks the game winning drives the older he gets”. It’s ok if people have other opinions. These kids care considerably less than you.
No. I am disappointed in the outcome and then I have to put up with a keyboard cowboy with snarky, stupid takes. My reaction is want you want: that’s why you are here. Enjoy!

Honest question, do the NFL Hopefuls sit out the rest of the way? Hall, Kolar, McDonald, etc? Can’t blame them. This is a lost season and they shouldn’t risk injury in hopes of getting paid.
I don't think any players will sit out until at least the Bowl game. Possibly, once they are officially eliminated from the Big 12 race but I doubt it. Think they would want to play on Senior Day.

Tough, tough loss, especially because we're so effing close to becoming a 9-11 win team instead of a 7-9 win team. On to UT....

I’m feeling that same agony, but I disagree there’s nothing left to play for. A big middle finger to UT and OU would make this season fun. Definitely won’t be the season we wanted by any means, but that’s about the best I can come up with to salvage the season.

Yeah, now it’s just “out for blood” time. There will be MANY CMC memes emerging from the final stretch.

Way too many third and longs surrendered.
Can't get a steady run game established. Need to stop making 2nd, 3rd and 4th and 1 so damn dramatic.
No pressure on Doege. We made him look good. He's average at best.
No other receiver stepping up to take the pressure off X and Kolar.
Offense only scores 24.
Bag on the refs all you want. It was a bad performance.

Can we take the rose colored glasses off for a second?

Were the calls tough on both TD’s? Yes.

But I’ve seen calls like that in countless games over the years at both levels. It’s a classic “it should probably be overturned, but because the evidence is not 100% indisputable, we’ll go with the call on the field” They suck, but it’s the refs being overly conservative with their reviewing. It happens a lot, call on the field always has the advantage.

I will say, the only thing that pissed me off was how on Breece’s fumble they called TD first before changing their minds. That felt sh*tty. It was almost like they bought into the WVU player reaction and thought that meant it had to be a fumble. You should definitely lean towards calling it a TD on that play if you can’t clearly see if he fumbled first. Don’t just take a guess.

The team did enough. The refs decided this game.
Defense was an issue today and needed to be much better, but to have the refs determine the outcome of a game is the disappointing part here. Just not sure how the replay didn’t have enough to overturn the fumble, to not review the potential first down spot at a crucial time
In the game and not stop the WVU scoring play when the play clock was at zero.

grow up. The past 4 years have been ******* fantastic for us fans. You could legit argue we were the second best team in the conference from 2017-2020.

I feel terrible for the players.

but for us fans? Not a damn bit.

on Hall’s TD the only way a replay official gives ball to WVU is blindness or fixing a game.
100% conclusively not a fumble.
The biggest issue is sop says call it a td and let reply sort it out. That’s how the WV td in the back of the end zone worked. That’s how the Hall fumble/td should have worked.

One official called it a TD live.

I wouldn’t have been as pissed if they gave it to ISU inches past the goal line.

That simply was not WVU ball.
I agree, and we all know the B12 will hide behind “indisputable evidence”. Not that I care about getting an apology letter, because I don’t, but we won’t be getting one.

We struggle offensively a lot, O line has one or two issues, it’s just not a complete line, and Tom still really struggkes a lot

overall, there is a constant lack of urgency to everything we do

defense was really bad today, not sure why, some of it is not having rose, but still might need some personnel changes in the secondary, something very wrong today

Refs were horrific

I think you playing for pride now, due to the total lack of preparedness in Waco and Morgantown

lot of guys seem a step slower this year, Eisworth just looks off for example, not sure why

thought Brock played well again, hutch too

can we change the game clock and play clocks to just be friendly suggestions to further help your coping mechanism?

The one replay on their touchdown wasn't even remotely close to being a touchdown. The one for our touchdown its one thing to say it wasn't a touchdown, but it was clearly not a fumble. That wasn't being conservative on overturning plays that was choosing the winner of the game.
