I’m not sure who you’re referencing, but I’ve been reading Wilner’s work consistently over the years, and it’s why the Yahoo! report makes sense (need in-market for their network). His work is also why I’ve stated KU is better positioned than some may think for a BIG or SEC invite given future streaming implications.

It’s a mistake to view it as either streaming or linear world.
Like JP said this week, it’s still a largely linear world. The Pac12 isn’t in a position to look out at Years 10-15, they need help now. The SEC and BIG are better able to prioritize long term streaming impacts.

For years people talked about cord-cutting meaning the BIG was making a mistake with Rutgers. Lol. Although we’re further along in the transition now, it’s not driving these decisions, particularly for conferences fighting just to survive to the next deal
