Things must be pretty bleak over there if they can't even manage an unearned preseason ranking...

Assuming Frost gets replaced, the next coach would be their 7th in the last 18 years. Meanwhile, Iowa State is being included in the national championship discussion. I wish a psychic would have let me in on this a few decades ago. I would have been a lot less depressed.
I remember taking my wife and youngest for a drive at Saylorville during the Nebraska game in 1983. While driving over the dam on the way home with the final score of 72-29 I thought of revenge. Even in 1982, with Dave Rimington crushing 48-10 us, I swore someday I would relish the nadir of Nebraskagolia football. Hey baby that day is now!

Boy I feel you! For us old timers, this era of Cyclone football we're living in right now is beyond description. You don't know how good things are until you've experienced the bottom, and we spent a few decades living there.

I was actually in Lincoln for that game.

I may have to get to a game in Lincoln this fall, I am starting to think tickets will be pretty cheap. I would LOVE to be in Norman for the game with them. That beat down is going to be illegal.

All the talk this morning, before the Frosty news, was on how they were on track to extending the sell out streak. They said the 11 AM game with Fordham was likely the toughest, but they expect the tickets to fly out the door after they trounce Illinois.

I could see BF ending up there if him and pops can't pull off the Iowa HC position, but I still think he will replace KF.
Since the change from Solich to Callahan, Nebraska has over-reacted with every new hire by picking somebody completely different from the prior coach. There's no way they will hire somebody with character concerns after getting rid of a coach with character concerns.

I can see why Frost wanted to get rid of the Oklahoma game. How is his team supposed to recover from a game against Fordham in only 2 weeks?

Doing a little research though, Fordham certainly has an interesting list of prominent alumni. Look at this list:

Donald Trump
Andrew Cuomo
Chris Cuomo
Captain Kangaroo
William Casey
David Copperfield
Vin Scully
Mary Higgins Clark
Geraldine Ferraro
G. Gordon Liddy
Vince Lombardi
Alan Alda
Denzel Washington
Amanda Seyfried

Now that's a diverse list of personalities.

A team composed of that lineup could probably beat a Frost-coached NU team

I think they will be taking whomever they can get pretty soon.

Somehow I ended up down by the corner where Nebby came through, Dave Rimington was a big dude in the 80's.

I haven't seen a single Husker fan post about this or anything football related on facebook in a while. Normally they would be chomping at the bit while clutching their little red balloon just waiting for football season to start.

It's like Moe Iba getting fired as their basketball coach in the mid-80s. It was actually a reporter from the student newspaper that busted them having secret practices then. They probably have a better basketball history if he would have stuck around.
