Sad, but the right move in the long run. This would explain quite a bit of what from the outside looked like a leadership/chemistry/culture problem.

Makes me wonder if the previous staff was aware of the situation or had tried to do anything to rectify it. This was not a good team, but definitely better than 2-22.

I am not questioning the decision. But I hope the right decision was made considering that, from an outside perspective, I'm not sure if I would trust anyone's opinion on that team considering they all seemed pretty dysfunctional.
From everything I’ve heard, he’s been a big root of that dysfunction in the locker room the last two seasons..

It then opens it up for all kinds of wild speculation

Understandable, but the personal attacks and vitriol I get after every post has only gotten worse and more vulgar over the past 15 years - sometimes because I'm "airing dirty laundry", because I'm "not providing enough detail and context", or because things change so damn quickly in the world of athletes, recruits, etc. I'm exhausted with life and people so being very careful with what I say.

People will always speculate so I would prefer to leave it as it was an unanimous team decision and wish him the best from there. Onward and upward.

I can't imagine it's worse than some of the guys I played football with. For example Justin Eilers (RIP) was a complete pyscho, always wanting to fight his teammates. In fact one day practicing in the Rec Center he picked a fight with Enis Haywood (RIP) and Enis broke Justin's jaw, it had to be wired shut for multiple weeks. No way in hell I'd ever vote to kick him off the team.
RIP, E-Hay!

I remember the explanation to the media "Ehlers helmet came off trying to tackle Ennis" lol

Well skipped to page 7. Nice statement by Rasir, he's graduated so good luck to him getting his Masters somewhere.

Is it worthwhile to read pages 2-6 or at least tell me where it gets interesting. TIA

Hey it honestly can’t be worse than what we went through this past year lol.

Yep except next yr we will have tickets for all games. Unluckily I'm diehard enough to go no matter the product on the court. By the end of this season I was glad I didn't make the cut on MBB tkts. The ushers would have had to escort me out on the last game of the season with 0 wins.

How successful were those teams?

“Leadership/chemistry/culture problem” defines the Steve Prohm era. He’s a feckless guy who never had control of the team or the locker room in 6 years, starting with Jameel McKay in year one. I think Prohm tried way too hard to be liked and as a result never commanded respect. If Jeremy is right I think it’s a bigger indictment of Prohm than it is of Bolton.

Uh, no, he wanted to stay. This was a team decision.

Edit to be very clear: Rasir wanted to stay, made some strides to mend fences with the other players, but the team as a whole decided his fate. Good kid but not a great teammate and with a change in culture being critical to the future, he was voted off the island. Period, end of story.

This isn't on TJ or on Rasir, or anybody individually - it it what was deemed necessary by all involved (with the exception of Rasir).

Remember when all of those who were saying his teammates didn’t like him were told by others here that it wasn’t true and they were bad fans for spreading rumors? Welp.

I actually think Steve cared a lot for the guys and probably punished them more than a lot of coaches would but who knows if it ended with the respect thing.

We were horrible this past season, so losing Rasir is not a big lose. Sometimes we are confused into liking one of the few players that looked like he could play the this level, but he is not a quality starter on a decent team.

I would rather the staff use this coming season to set the tone, of what they are planning on doing in the future, there are going to be rough spots, but this will be a process, slowly moving practice to practice, game to game to get better in 2 or 3 seasons. Rasir would not be around for the finished product, its a good time for us to cut bait and go forward.

I must have missed those posts or threads as I’ve tried staying out of a lot of the basketball threads the past year for obvious reasons.
