I guess I'm curious when his duties end?

The chair has to stick around to explain things on the selection show, but once they have the bracket set are they done? Could easily get back tonight.

When I emailed him last week on an unrelated matter, the auto email I got said he was out of the office until April 9th. I believe they have members of the committee at each site to help with administration and other issues that might come up

Yeah. He is a douche. I wouldn't let my players accuse other schools of cheating on twitter.

Didn’t he and one of the Frantots also accuse refs of cheating with zero consequences from the conference? Or was that two Frantots or a different douche?

Just read the tournament replacement protocol. If any 3 if the 9 Big XII teams bow out before 6pm Tuesday we're in the big dance. Guessing Jamie won't make a move before then.

I say 9 because Kansas St and TCU would get an open slot before us but if one of them couldn't go we'd only need 2 of the 7 to opt out.
I believe this only refers to if the tournament winner for a conference can't play due to covid, there is a replacement from the conference. At Large bid drop outs get replaced by the First 4 out.

Flight tracker bump. We have a Wheels Up plane scheduled for Ames today from Kenosha. Did TJ go "home" a few days ago?!!!?!?!?!?!??!?!
Probably his parents flying in for the big announcement.

When you have attendance plummet, that’s less people buying Clone Cones and walking tacos.

While I’m excited about the prospect of more for me, that hit to revenue will weigh heavily on JP.

They plummeted each year during the McD years, and actual attendance even more. The idea definitely isn't out of line.
Not questioning the 'idea'. Just the extreme. Furthermore, since 2010, Iowa States alumni, brand, and popularity have grown significantly. How much is anyone's guess. But, the impact to ticket sales may not be as bad as some predict ... next year.

I agree with you. People who have been waiting for them for years would buy with hope for better days.

I agree with your assessment given the single premise that the product continues to be bad. However, all this with a 'delayed' loss in revenue. If, on the other hand, the product shifts towards 'optimism', the prices much like our stock market, shift value further into the future. As irrational as that may seem, it's exactly how human thinking is going these days. In other words, 'optimism' goes much further than 'pessimism'. My ultimate point being: this game is about $$$$ and psychology.

Yep. There is way more damage that can be done with a Prohm return than ticket sales. Apathy being the biggest. But I’d almost guarantee there will be less revenue with Prohm next year than it will cost to fire him (assuming we’d end up firing him after next year...which we would) - only costs the AD and extra $1.25 million to fire now compare to a year from now.

A Young Chris Beard would have been a whole lot better than Losing Every Conference Game.....Did Chris Beard EVER LOSE EVERY CONFERENCE GAME WHEREVER HE COACHED?
That's not what I was arguing. You claimed that we chose Prohm over Chris Beard. Chris Beard was not on anyone's radar when Prohm was hired because he was coaching at a D-II school. He was never an option then, not even a candidate for any P6 program.

Were you seriously hoping to hire Chris Beard back in 2015 when he was the head coach at a D-II school?

Would one inherit the seed of the team they replace?
