I hope if Prohm leaves, we strike lightening in a bottle. Despite all of our love for the program, we are probably not even one of the top jobs in the Big 12. Our huge plus WAS the fans who make Hilton magic. And judging from these boards, that advantage seems to be dead.

That guy from Duke is in play as well. When it doesn’t happen that doesn’t mean Coach K was not in play. And everyone will deny it, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t true either.

I alluded to it about 1700 posts back when talking about the Trib article, but I think, particularly with all the Fred rumors, it’s worth thinking about 1) who is leaking this info, and 2) why? Fred/agent trying to get a raise in Lincoln? Fred/donors trying to force Pollards hand? Boosters trying to undermine the AD? I think there are a few possibilities that make more sense than others, particularly when the CF staff seems to feel pretty strongly that he will not be back.

This is more interesting than the coaching search. I personally don't think this rumor started 100% in a random message board poster's mind. That doesn't mean that I think it is legit, but it does mean that I think there are some kernels of truth. And that leads one to wonder who is feeding all of this and why.

There were definitely these issues at play in the 2015 coaching search on here. Everyone had their agenda.
