Anyone else hearing that JP has already decided Prohm is coming back?

That said, if he really wants to come here bad enough there are things he could do to help the situation. Give a hometown discount on salary for starters.

Doubtful he wants to return that badly. If he did he would have waited a few years to see how Prohms career unfolded.

Like the home team discount he’s previously given? Perhaps if we pay him more he’ll donate more to the university and department though.

Do you actually believe that coaches are not interested enough in a job if they don’t sit idle after another coach just signed a contract extension, waiting to see how that extension plays out? That’s delusional.

It’s in Jamie’s hands.

It doesn't matter if an NBA team would touch him... it matters whether is SEEMS like an NBA team would touch him. You can bet it will still be used recruiting against us, and ultimately, if he's able to bring ISU back to relevance again, I bet an NBA team would take another flyer.
Possibly. He didn’t exactly prove he could do it in the NBA.

I hope if Prohm leaves, we strike lightening in a bottle. Despite all of our love for the program, we are probably not even one of the top jobs in the Big 12. Our huge plus WAS the fans who make Hilton magic. And judging from these boards, that advantage seems to be dead.

With donors supposedly lined up to take care of the buyouts, do the variety of reasons simply come down to JP not wanting Fred?
Optimistically speaking, it’s due to Jamie wanting a contract commitment, real or otherwise, for optics. But that’s optimistic.

Id be interested to see what percentages people are putting on TJ being successful vs Craig Smith being successful here. I’d say they are both 50/50.
So you’re saying you’re throwing a hissy fit over Craig Smith? Is that better than a hissy fit over TJ?

Most of the protests around TJ are more about the perceived process imo. We don’t know who will be successful. We do know there’s hiring practices and criteria that generally give you a better chance at being successful.

Nearly all mentioned, including smith, have their merits. From our side, that is.

Weird how the fans were great when Steve got here but after 6 years with him they aren't anymore. I wonder what could have happened?

I think Smith would be the same 50/50 proposition as TJ. How is that throwing a hissy fit. I want Fred. That’s the only hime run option that we have.

Need to figure out proper setup for this. I am thinking:

Six Pack of Left Hand Milk Stout
Talisker Storm Scotch
Brisket, slaw and beans from Georgia Boys BBQ

Maybe a Wake Up Dead Nitro from Left Hand just in case Pollard keeps CSP.

What am I missing?
Yum I wish I could be having a nice milk stout right now.

You’ve been reflexive to Smith mentions in a similar manner as the other posters of reactions to TJ. Even the mere mention of smith being a worthy candidate sets you off with derogatory posts in regards to Smith. Which is odd given at least protests to TJ can be in part about the process, rather than a candidate.

Fred would be a great choice. And it’s possible if Jamie wants it to be.

Have you got pigeon #### in your eyes? Have you seen a more disfunctional team ? Cant play defense, rebound, shoot, or handle the ball and who is the coach responsible for this?

link? How is saying that TJ and Smith are both 50/50 propositions being “derogatory”?

I see this a lot and what difference does it make if what you think is playing out is true or not? Either way TJ would be the coach if your scenario.

I don’t think that’s what is happening though? Unless you have some kind of inside knowledge that’s a pretty substantial accusation to make.

Thought your Grandma said it was a done deal that Fred was coming back. If Fred is coming back then speculation about other possible coaching hires is redundant. So Why are you even saying it is a possibility that TJ might be Coach? That makes no sense.

What if Jamie pulled off a co-head coaching position for Fred and TJ and had both of them on the staff. o_Oo_O

Wouldn’t happen lol. Too many cooks in the kitchen. Also, TJ won’t come back to ISU to be an assistant again. He already did that once.
