This game has been compared to the 2003 Big XII CCG, the last year anyone other than OU or Texas has won the game. It was also the first win for Bill Snyder's K-State Wildcats in 3 tries. For me personally, as a long time Big 8/Big XII CFB fan, this was the most thrilling game. That was primarily because the outcome was unexpected. This was not one of the more dominant K-State teams, but they played with great heart. If I recall correctly, there was also some undercurrent of bitterness felt by Bill Snyder versus OU over some possibly underhanded recruiting activity. But that is likely lost to the sands of time.

By contrast, today's game is more evenly matched, although, almost universally, everyone outside of Cyclone Nation expects OU to do what they do this time of year - dominate this game. But if ISU prevails, it could rival the 2003 game as one of the most memorable in conference history.

I’m going to need one of you to call in your “one time” chip. My son and I used ours for the Texas game. Not everyone though as we will need the others for the semifinal and the championship game.
