I'll be honest. If you would have shown me the 3rd and 4th down stats before the game I would have thought we'd be up 10 at half. Often that's indicative of line of scrimmage play, as well as yards to go for the down. Those last 2 items were my keys of the game coming in.

As it turns out Purdy has made 3 of his best plays on 3rd down with that scramble and throw being at the top of the list.

After that first quarter, we did a good job overall in the second. Make adjustments, get points off this opening drive, and we're in business

Breece averaging 3.7 yards on 10 carries. This stat needs to improve for us to win this game.

Good first half for Soehner and Shaw. Speaks to the depth that CMC has developed. And nice to see Tarique Milton contributing; they're using him like a short-yard back, except with passes out on the wing.

Purdy getting his rhythm with the quick play too. Loosening that arm up. It’s time for some Milton magic in 2nd half.

Just a piss poor job by our coaching staff to close out the half.

On one hand we are fortunate to be down 3 after the abysmal start. On the other we likely gave up 7 + on penalties and 3+ due to clock management to close the half. Can't miss those kinds of opportunities on the road.

It’s not on the staff when your guard has a false start at the 2. College kicker should be able to make a 40 yd FG. In fact Assaily has made those kicks in the past.

Biggest positive for me is Purdy is playing within himself and not trying to do too much. Makes me feel much better about cleaning up some issues and playing really well in the second half.

well we get the ball back to start and we have been moving the ball on them good enough.. lets see what more Heacock can dial up, D has started to get comfortable as well. down 3 in Austin isn't bad for how we started..

I think one good shot at the end zone and then a sideline route might've been a good balance. But if one of the end zone shots land, then of course I'd second-guess that tactic. Also risk not getting out of bounds on an out-route, but I forgot we still had a timeout left.

I don't mind taking one shot to keep the D honest. But 3, when you are moving the ball with your TEs, was excessive and stupid.

Feel very good about the second half. One bogus call away from being tied, receiving the ball first, and Heacock's hands untied for the second half. We played poorly and are right in this, Breece hasn't even done anything yet. That will change
