I have to be skeptical of everything this reviewer said after I read that he prefers ketchup, mayonnaise, and onions on his tenderloins which is outright blaspheme. Mustard and onions are the only condiments for tenderloins.

Mustard. Onions. Don't forget the hamburger pickles. Ketchup? Mayonnaise? Who in the hell is this person?

A few years ago The Lucky Pig in Ogden won so I stopped by and had one on my way back from an ISU football game.
None of these nominations are close to me at all.

I do need to stop by Twisted Tail to get a burger one day. I've eaten there a few times but don't think I ever got a burger. I have had the pork tenderloin

Is there a great tenderloin sandwich in Omaha? I have lived here 33 years and yet to find one. We like Darrell's Place in Hamlin, IA, but it's 80 miles from 168th and Center!.

I have no idea but I have never gone out looking. It seems the consensus on Redditt is Barrett's Barleycorn on Leavenworth

While good, those are technically fritters. Even though I think they may still advertise them as tenderloins.
I would think that the vast majority of "tenderloins" aren't really tenderloins.

I was always find of the breaded tenderloin at Hickory Park back around 2000 -2005 timeline. Nice thick pork slice. Then they changed it to the thinner ones that you see more often and it wasn't nearly as good. I really hate when the breading is thicker than the meat.

When they come out with the best grilled tenderloin, you can post something on the subject. This thread is about best breaded tenderloin. Please show yourself the door.

Just saying. The breading takes all the flavor away. You will learn some day.

I've learned of a lot of places that serve a good breaded tenderloin. As far as the breading goes, the flavor is dependent on how thick the loin is when when breaded and how long it is in the fryer. I've made quite a few so I think I might know something about it.

This thread inspired me to split a tenderloin sandwich with my wife for lunch. We ended up getting it from the Iowa Stater restaurant in Ames. Surprised they weren't on this list. Their nomination form for this award must have gotten lost in the mail, and surely not because their tenderloin is dry, bland, and disappointing.

Whatcha' Smokin' in Luther has a damn solid tenderloin.....along with all their food.

I have to disagree on that, but I am basing it on only one order. It was big, but kind of soggy. Not crisp at all. Watcha Smokin' is great with their smoked meats.

Ted's Coney Island in Urbandale has a good Tenderloin. Not sure about the downtown location.

TCs After Point in Dewitt Iowa had the best. A nasty divorce put that restaurant out of business, sadly.

Brick market cafe in Bondurant has an amazing one. I recommend it.

I didn't realize that there was a tenderloin war between Iowa and Indiana. Both states have a version of the sandwich, and while to the casual observer the difference between the two might appear nominal, we all know that midwesterners are sticklers for details, and people will live and die to proclaim that those details make their version superior.

Iowa's pig numbers will tell you otherwise. It's not much of a war.

Never had a bad meal at the Twisted tail, but the ribs are the best. Call ahead to order them though, because they sell out fast.

I don't think there is a war. Interesting though, that he would choose Iowa to compare versions.

You compare yourself to the best. I had one of those inch thick loins with a tiny bit of breading on it once. It was downright unamerican! The main thing is you must have onions and Ketchup. Other condiments are fine, but optional.
