2020 Best Breaded Tenderloin Finalists Named

Finalists are The Blind Pig in Cedar Rapids; Birdies, Burgers and Brews at Hillcrest Golf & Country Club in Graettinger; PrairieMoon on Main in Prairieburg; Sasquatch Jacks Hideaway Barroom & Grill in Waverly, and Bents Smokehouse & Pub in Westgate.

This annual contest is sponsored by Iowa Pork Producers Association, with initial nominations taken from mid-April through June 5. Note: nominations can come from anyone, so keep this in mind in a few months.

Agree on Nicks. The tenderloin and onion rings while absolutely dreadful for my body was phenomenal.

The place just west of Nevada was on the list a couple of years ago and I fully agree there. Excellent.

Blind Pig...I know I have had it but it doesn't stand out in my mind.

I didn't realize that there was a tenderloin war between Iowa and Indiana. Both states have a version of the sandwich, and while to the casual observer the difference between the two might appear nominal, we all know that midwesterners are sticklers for details, and people will live and die to proclaim that those details make their version superior.

Both states have a version of the sandwich, and while to the casual observer the difference between the two might appear nominal, we all know that midwesterners are sticklers for details, and people will live and die to proclaim that those details make their version superior.

I didn't realize that either. Nicks actually was the thicker version. However, Iowa is the number one pork producing state so our way is the correct way.

I have to be skeptical of everything this reviewer said after I read that he prefers ketchup, mayonnaise, and onions on his tenderloins which is outright blaspheme. Mustard and onions are the only condiments for tenderloins.

A few years ago The Lucky Pig in Ogden won so I stopped by and had one on my way back from an ISU football game.
None of these nominations are close to me at all.

I do need to stop by Twisted Tail to get a burger one day. I've eaten there a few times but don't think I ever got a burger. I have had the pork tenderloin

I thought they were inconsistent. More times than not they came out very dry.

I tend to agree. I could see mayo, maybe. But definitely not ketchup

Perfect Games in Ames sells the ones that they made at place that used to be at the Gilbert corner. Those are awesome! I can't recall the name of the place.

I'm just gonna say that Goldies (??) in Prairie City has an overrated tenderloin. Not a lot of flavor. I've had better. There. Shoot me.
