We might have peaked on cases. So that’s good. 400 new ones is still high though. And 19 deaths is high.

I wouldn't assume we've peaked on cases. We've worked through a testing backlog and (I hope) the bulk of the packing plant tests The next phase is to see what community spread comes from the packing plant outbreaks and what the impact of "opening" up the 77 counties is.

You are assuming they will test people. I sort of doubt it. I bet numbers of tests fall dramatically once they get the meat packing people tested.

I definitely could see the number of tests drop and then of course the cases drop and they declare all is well and open up more things and the remaining counties.

We'll only know after the fact when we've peaked, especially since the day to day number is influenced by when they do mass testing of places where there are outbreaks or catch up on a backlog of tests. . Once it starts trending down over a full week or two then we'll know that we're past the first peak.

What are the chances that Polk, linn and Johnson counties continue to be shut down till June 1?

I expect **** to be open the 15th almost entirely. Kim seems pretty incapable of making data driven decisions.

*actual* data.

Any mention I've seen about what 'experts' told her don't get very specific, and I've yet to read anything from her that's specific data that leads to the decisions.

This has maybe been asked/answered, but how can the Perry Tyson plant have 730 positive cased, but Dallas county has 613?

Will Dallas have 1,343 cases tomorrow?

This is why the press conferences are must-see for me. IMO, she was insinuating pretty hard that she would be announcing more openings soon. Probably this Friday or next Monday for the announcement for May 15 openings. There was just something she talked about in her opening that gave me this immediate feeling.

I still have a hard time seeing Polk opened up until June 1, but I think she will open more businesses in the 77 counties and open more of the remaining 22 counties.

Not exactly sure.

They don’t all live in the county. The Prestage plant had people from Waterloo there. The worthington, MN plant had Sioux Falls workers.

It goes by county of residence. Perry is really close to other county lines, and I would bet a lot of the people who work there don't live in Dallas County. Look for the neighboring counties to increase.

Because many workers at the plant don't live in Dallas county.

Same thing happened with Woodbury Co, IA and Dakota Co, NE. The plant employees were split across both.
