I want to lose weight without being hungry. It gets distracting and I’ve not found a good method for dealing with it.
Eat giant salads and tons of other veggies. Lots of volume for low calories. Also make sure to drink a lot of water

That's interesting. I'm finding that a salad just makes my stomach angry and hungry.

I've turned to protein bars as a stopgap between meals.

I've consistently lost weight the last 10 weeks, but hit a plateau this week.....which kind of sucks.

This helped me with one addition, fat. That is the one thing I stole from Keto is to eat fat and protein along with salads. I never feel hungry and have lost about 80 pounds in the last 15 months.

I don’t do a strict plan, I have basically just cut out all sugar and processed foods. I’ve also cut out milk but not cheeses. However when I cut out fat I get hungry and have an urge for garbage calories. It sounds crazy but it has absolutely worked for me.

Not exactly sure.

A long slog but more a change of lifestyle and those are the kind that will stick around with you better. I'm still in the first month of mine. A little over three weeks. Goal is 2-3 pounds a week. Knowing some will be 0-1 and a few may be 3+. I have already found myself unable to eat the amounts I used to. I have also made sure to eat until I'm content and not full. If we go out to eat, I will share what I have or leave some to cut back on what I eat. The little things can add up and instead of dropping that weight in 2 months, holding for 6 and then popping back up. Take a year to do it, you should hold that lifestyle for a couple at least and hopefully longer.

I've found protein bars to be the easiest to deal with getting to lunch and dinner as well.

Shockingly I can eat one of these 190 calorie biscuits about 8 am and it holds me over to about 11.

It's very possible. I've said this a few times on this thread, but I highly recommended everyone change their diets to a more frequent meal style, meaning you should be eating 5-7 meals a day. The reasoning behind this is simple and proven science. When you eat, your body releases insulin to cope with the sugars that have just entered your body from eating. No body is perfect so what ends up happening is your liver over produces insulin, making your blood sugar drop below a level that is unacceptable to the body. To combat this, how can your body fix this? The only way it knows how. It sends signals to your brain to tell it that you're hungry and you should eat again, because that is the only way to get more glucose. Are you really hungry? No. It's just a natural body reaction. This is why and where you have heard of the Yo-Yo effect. Your blood sugar throughout the day on the standard american eating pattern spikes and falls largely throughout the day. We can lower the peaks, and essentially flat line our blood sugar levels throughout the day by eating smaller more frequent meals. This is also EXTREMELY beneficial to your gut health as it takes a large amount of energy every time you eat to begin digestion. Smaller meals means your stomach and digestion system are not over burdened by extremely large meals and can more quickly and efficiently digest your meals. Lastly, eating more frequently raises your metabolism due to the fact that your digestion system is essentially working all day, meaning you will tend to burn more calories and in fact lose more weight.

I was considering a late April short triathlon. Since I'd been training just hard enough that I may be able to pull it off if everything went right, my gym with a pool closed February 1 and now all gyms are closed through the end of the month. I will take this as my sign that I should not feel guilty about calling it off.

Unless you get sick, having to change your workout routine is not an excuse to stop working completely. Yes, you may need to adjust your goals. If you goal was weight loss, maybe you just try to maintain during this period where all gyms are closed. Maybe you have a nagging injury that you've been pushing through to get all your workouts in. This might be a time to let that heal and focus on other things.

I normally do my Farrell's workout 5 to 6 days a week. I'm very routine oriented: get up at 5, workout at 6, shower at the gym, head to the office. This morning I slept in a little, went for a 3 mile run and did some resistance band work at home before showering and working from home.

We all recognize this time is difficult and certainly puts a strain on fitness/health goals. That being said, it doesn't mean we all have to go completely off the rails.

All the gyms closing is a dagger in the heart. I can't stand working out at home, just not the same.
As of this morning the Planet Fitness near me was still open. Now that I am supposed to go straight home from work I can maybe get myself back into the pattern of going home and working out instead of going to happy hour.

Maybe being the operative word

Not eating at restaurants is a good way to not take in mass quantities of calories so there's one positive.

Never been so happy that my post pregnancy program was meant to be done at home and I have the limited weights/bands for it. My gym is going to make les miles or mills idk videos available online so I may do that. I should keep running but my race and of April has been cancelled ☹ maybe find a new one I guess.

I luckily prepared for the closures and bought a few things that allow me to at least get a decent workout in. It is something and it will help me keep my sanity.

Channel I watch for stretching and home workouts. It's more for "athletic" performance and not strength gains but good regardless.

There's a Mexican restaurant near me. The fajitas dinner is enough for two people. I just don't understand why places have such enormous portions.
