I'm down about 10 lbs since Christmas. No gimmicks or supplements that will bring the weight right back once they stop either. Just diet and exercise. Intermittent fasting 16/8, good-sized lunch, small supper. Low carb, low sugar, decreased alcohol intake (hardly any beer). Notice I didn't say no carb, no sugar, no alcohol? You still have to live a little! Lots of cardio with weights mixed in a couple days a week. Lots of water. Feels good.

I haven't had booze since I was drinkin' for Jesus at Christmas

Been keeping carbs to around 150g and sugar to around 25g (mostly lower)

This is mostly by just drinking water and cutting out all calories/sugar I was drinking.

There's a Mexican restaurant near me. The fajitas dinner is enough for two people. I just don't understand why places have such enormous portions.

It's a good question....I think the bigger the meal, the less expensive to create. Any place that has very small portions seems to cost like $50/plate.

Anyway, adding in the chips or other forms of apps at other places, beers and all that and we easily consume a day's worth of calories in one sitting. AND spend way more money and time than it would take to cook some lean protein with veggies.

And people do this multiple times a week including eating drive thru or stuff like microwaveable meals that are poor quality.

What is really odd is many people will eat at a new place and when you ask them how it was the first thing they will say is how much food they got, not whether it tasted any good.

My booze lately is tequila water with a lime. Definitely an acquired taste but healthier than a beer or five.

Not exactly sure.
I go light throughout the day and eat a regular supper. Eat until I’m content and slower. I can’t even eat the amount I could before. I have trimmed calories and find a way to always take the long way with everything I do. Started late in February and I’m down over 10 pounds. My busy time will come up in a couple weeks and that will help because many times I just forget to eat even.

Not eating at restaurants is a good way to not take in mass quantities of calories so there's one positive.

I don't eat out much but sitting at home, even for me, is going to be hard. I am retired so am sort of an expert at being home but this = a lot of time ALONE as a spouseless old man. I don't eat out of frustration or for comfort but do probably eat too much when I get stuck at home and bored during the evening. Also, fewer grocery trips (in risk group) is going to be less fresh fruits and veggies and more stored pantry stuff which is more carbos and stuff. Not going to starve, got lots o'food, just not much fresh stuff and maybe not my usual diet.

Off to go walkabout before the weather turns to crap the next couple of days. Neighbors walked by earlier with dog and daughter and waved from the street. About as close to living humans as I have been since Thursday. :(

Yeah...this is a good test for me. If food's around, I'll snack. I'm forcibly conditioning myself to avoid eating as my general stock is good for 2 weeks' worth.

This week has been tough. Workout place closed, confined to the house with wife and kids, too cold and/or wet to run. My diet has been ok, so at least there's that. Hoping for better weather next week so I can at least do some jogging and biking for the next few weeks.

Working from home has definitely increased my drinking... after sitting at home all day a beer or two always sounds nice.

I really wanted to crack open the wine last night but held off. It's very tempting though as you say. Plus less movement through the day......trying to psych myself up to go outside now, too cold for me but the toddler needs to work off his zoomies.
