There are better players on the floor with the exception of brackins. I actually think mcdoormats coaching would work better for this team than prohms..
The last year of McDermott included --
(sorted on descending minutes)
Brackins = 1st round pick, short NBA career
Gilstrap = #1 JUCO in the country
Garrett = cup of coffee in the NBA
Christopherson = one of the best shooters in school history
Hamilton = NBA career
Staiger = another one of the best shooters in school history
Colvin = 4* recruit
Dendy = another 4* recruit (before transferring)
That was three NBA guys, two elite shooters, and an elite slasher utterly wasted.
No way the team this year, even with Haliburton around, is that talented.

My only hope, beyond progress with the young guys, is ZERO shots from Nixon beyond 15 feet.

Not my question to answer, but I have a take.
A bad orange can sit a lot longer than a bad apple before getting noticed.
If McDermott is the bad apple here then his brown spots were easy to see.
Talented players not developing or just plain leaving which lead to or was caused by bad offense. For me, watching the Wesley Johnson story unfold was tough and really showed me how coach struggled.
So if Prohm is the bad orange then things have looked fine on the skin. We've been making the tournament very regularly up until this year. But now that we're getting in to teams that are "his" teams (cutting in to the fruit) we are seeing that is not enough there to sustain fans' hunger. With Haliburton assumed to be a lottery pick we are looking at a dry future unless Prohm gets an unusally high success rate on recruits and transfers like he had in the 18-19 season.
Anyways, let's get another win today!
Shaka is one of few coaches in the conference who is nearly-inarguably worse than Prohm. That guy was handed everything, and has done absolutely nothing with it.
This is completely a winnable game, regardless of what the perma-mad's who shouldn't even watch the games say. We also have more room for error against this team, as opposed to the Baylor's and Kansas's of the world.
