And now for the post game radio to hear CSP and radio crew talk about how proud they are of the team for not giving up and having a comeback that just fell a little short

what do you want him to say? I’m sure saying they suck is great for team morale.

I'm not sure what we'll do in conference. We're still watching this team figure itself out. I'm just not willing to write the team off before December. Losing to a team that should be ranked and will be near the top of a P5 conference shouldn't end our season in any fan's eyes. I think we saw this team learn some things today and fight back. We made a ton of floaters in the lane because they were collapsing to take away getting all the way to the rim. If we can keep doing that and stop Nixon from shooting 86 threes a game, I think we'll be alright.
In a vacuum I agree with you. Last season this isn't a killer loss. It's a bit bigger of a deal though when we already dropped 2 big games and have 4 more coming before January, so starting quick is a bigger deal this year than most. So unless you're confident that we're really going to get things figured out in conference play and put up a great record there then I'm not sure why this is a wait and see year. We don't have until January to figure things out this season.

One of our guards outside of TH needs to step up and be a consistent scorer. 5 games in now is long enough to see trends, and Nixon is not it. Maybe Grill can step up as a shooter.

15 wins this year is my prediction. Hopefully we see improvement with this young team. Nixon can’t shoot worth a lick lol

After realizing just how stacked this tournament is, I realized that the most likely outcome was pretty much always 1-2. Had we won today we would probably be playing North Carolina then one of Gonzaga, Oregon, and Seton Hall, all top 15 teams. Since we lost, we'll probably play Alabama. If we lose that, hopefully we'll win against Southern Miss, but if we win, we'll have to play either Oregon or Seton Hall. 0-3 would be a huge disappointment, but it's tough to be disappointed with 1-2 no matter how things shake out. A neutral court win against Alabama would be nice for the tournament resume, though, even though they aren't that good.

I have no idea if we make the tournament or not. I’d lean towards no.

but losing games against good teams won’t keep us out. Our fans have such an inflated view of what it takes to make the tournament.

every year a large number of posters are very sure we won’t make it. And every year we are clearly in.

It isn't the loss that troubles me, it is the shooting/scoring trend. Someone other than TH needs to become a threat.

Getting 21(?) TO and losing it handily is indicative of a scoring problem. Yes, handily despite the final score. This game was over at the first media time out of the 2nd half.

Thoughts...

-- Haliburton looks like one of the Monstars out there.

-- Bolton is alright. Flashes enough to stay in the starting line-up.

-- Nixon needs to stop shooting NOW or ride the pine.

-- Jacobson and Young are solid.

-- Not a great game by Conditt, but he is still one of our five best players.

-- Grill needs to play more/start over Nixon.

-- Jackson and Griffin are still feeling it out.

-- Generally proud of them for playing hard against a good team and fighting to come back, but these losses are piling up. We have little margin for error now.

-- We need to 2-0 the rest of this tournament and beat Iowa. Period. We are on life support for the NCAA tournament if we lose any of those games.

Boy, felt like Prohm just needed one more timeout in his pocket. Came out super flat right out of halftime, looked like Michigan threw a kink into their defense that threw us off. Michigan's first 3-4 looks were really really good sets. Looking forward to getting a little later in the season when we can throw something more than a 3/4 diamond press out there to throw teams off to start a half like that.

I couldn’t listen but Nixon’s shooting kept us in it early in the 2nd half. And his defense is key.

People seem surprised that Nixon can't shoot and for the life of me I can't figure out why. Look at his stats from Colorado State - raw stats and advanced. At some point you are what you are. DeAndre Kane was a rare exception.

Before the season started I said he wasn't going to be a good shooter for us and that Prohm would let him fire away because he has tiny little balls and/or poor coaching feel. Each happening not shocking. ISU fans acting surprised not shocking. Not a good offensive guard, signed because he enhances Chicago connections. Cool.

I've posted several negative things, there was some positive points. Some of it too sporadic or inconsistent.

Really need to use that full-court/half-court pressure more frequently, especially when offense gets stagnant. Never seem to use it until it's a "must" situation.
