Nebraska’s schedule too difficult for Scott Frost

Frost's mistake is thinking the fast-paced spread offense he used at Oregon and UCF would work at Nebraska. I can't think of any cold weather team that uses that system effectively.

Washington State is the only one I can think of, and its because they have the Godfather of the spread offense.

Following a coach that missed bowl games 2 out of 4 years. Bo Pelini is likely to go down as their best coach in the 21st century.
And after he was fired, the AD stated “Pelini hadn’t won the games that really mattered against top tier opponents.” Man, that sounds eerily similar to the current situation at another Big 10 school. That coach also has pretty much exactly the same yearly records as Bo did.

Frost doesn’t have the interior linemen to run anything else. You also need a stout defense to run a ball control offense. They both fit together scheme-wise. Ohio State can because they can recruit 5* athletes to every position, including the defensive side of the ball. They had 3 WRs drafted last spring too and they just reload at that position.

I watched a fair amount of this game. Purdue is bad. Nebraska is worse. Martinez -- woof.

If Plummer stays healthy, he’s going to be a PITA to play against, especially with those talented young WRs. The rest of the team, not so much.

So I was curious. Looked at the Bugeater coaching records since Solich wasn't allowed to let the program slide into mediocrity

121-81 60% (ish) winning percentage
Solich was 58-19 75.3%

Somehow with a level playing field Nebraska turned into a cold weather school in a mostly rural state

**** Nebraska

I hope they come in 4-7 and end up with 7 loses

No way, it would be fantastic if they beat Iowa.

Growing up in Eastern Iowa, I don't have quite the hatred of Nebraska that some of you do. Hell, I actually liked Mike Riley and wanted him to succeed. I dislike them now mainly because Scott Frost is like Tom Herman who is like Matt Rhule which means they are arrogant ********. And it is fun watching a train wreck.
