2019 Iowa's Best Burger finalists named

The Iowa Cattlemen's Association and Iowa Beef Industry Council just announced the 10 finalists for the 2019 competition, and yes, there's an Ames establishment among them. Might not be the one you think of first, however.

I can vouch for the burgers at Rides in Fort Dodge. They're kinda greasy, but then IMHO all the best burgers are.

I have never had the Ankeny Diner burger but have heard people rave about it for years.

Had it for the first time a few days ago. The patty itself is fantastic and was cooked to a perfect medium. Nothing to write home about with the toppings and bun. At least on the bbq one that i had.

It’s a pretty nice spot to eat. Milkshake was awesome.

The Twisted Tail? I've eaten there a few times, just can't remember if I had a burger.

So now I have to go to Fort Dodge and stop at Taco Tico and Rides for a burger

The only time I have eaten at the Ankeny diner is breakfast

Dotzy's in Elgin is legit. Haven't been there in awhile - should get down again.
