I just find it surprising how many people first expected us to be a bubble team and are now very mad about being substantially better than that.
You heavily weight expectations based on the worst possible data set to grade a year?

I get it. But circumstances change as the season goes on, as do fan expectations. They've definitely exceeded preseason expectations. But with KU down a little bit there was a clear path to win the Big 12 and they failed to take advantage in embarrassing fashion by dropping home games to middle of the pack teams. So I get why some people are disappointed today.

But here's the good news - this team is talented enough to make some noise in March. The only question is whether or not they can figure out how to bring the same effort and intensity for every game instead of every now and then.

Babb also does some weird ballerina jump with Adam Woodbury T-Rex arms in a strange attempt at a rebound, and Mike Jacobson goes through the effort of running the entire length of the floor, only to look down and away from the ball and turn his back towards the rebound as the ball bounces off the rim/backboard.

It's amazing, like not a single player will do just one thing right.

Maybe Shayok there, since he just had to run to his spot, and he pretty much did that, I guess.

It’s the least accurate assessment of a season for a reason.
So is after a win against KU, a big road win, or a bad loss in Hilton.

They only real time to assess the season is after it's done. We're not there yet. I've got no problem assessing an individual game. Last night was bad. Last Saturday was good.

Been saying that since the anti prohm sect started in after the Arizona game

I find it surprising to use reference preseason expectations. It’s the least accurate assessment of a season for a reason.

The thing is, if someone wasn't informed enough to project an expectation that was even close to reality, why would they think they have any idea what the hell's going on now. Listening to "play Conditt" from someone who saw a bubble team just doesn't hold any water and yet they keep acting like they have the answers Prohm doesn't.

I have seen this thrown around like it is fact yet the only facts I have seen posted about it is that only one of the three losses had a double digit spread.[/QUOTE]

Kansas State was -11.0 at open and was -8.5 at tip.
TCU was -10.5 at opening and -9.5 at tip.
Baylor was -9.0 at opening and -10.5 at tip.

It amazes me that people still think the conference is just as tough as its always been. The league right now has nowhere near the talent of the Hield/Mason/Niang/Motley/Smart heydays that it had few years ago.

West Virginia and Oklahoma State are both at least as bad as those Tech teams who went 2-16 every year. Iowa State and Tech are really the only teams who haven't had significant injuries or dismissals this year. If you just look at all the players who have missed significant time or are out this year, the league is a shell of itself right now.

I think thats what makes losses last night so frustrating, years like this where Kansas is down and arent coming around often, we had the talent and experience to win it this year.

Talent, yes. Experience, not so much. An experienced team wouldn't have dropped home games to TCU and/or Baylor.

Depending on when you played Iowa State it could have been one or three.
When they call the line on a game it is the line at tip that is called. If you got in on a different line that's great for you, but the line at tip takes into account things like injuries and whether injured players are likely to play. You can't cherry pick when you are saying it is a double digit upset.

I dug up the facts to answer the question. I don’t give a **** if he has lost 3 games as a DD favorite or as a 8 point favorite. But you should absolutely let Chris Williams know because he is obviously in on the anti-Prohm propaganda because he talks about 3 losses as a double digit favorite.

Apparently I need to insert the sarcasm pirate because a few of you believe CW is anti-Prohm.

You could have let him know by @ing him in your response. I don't think he is on an anti-Prohm campaign, I just think people have a tendency to hear something and repeat it not knowing if it is true or not. That happens a lot on CF and I tend to call ******** on things when I see them.

So you knew the closing lines before I found them for you.

Man how terrible does that make all of the conferences below the Big 12? Which is all of them.

Right, and I’m not suggesting to. I’m suggesting being surprised about reactions in mid-February due what preseason expectations were is silliness.

It was a joke, although Doke is carrying too much bad weight too where he’d be better to trim weight. why don’t you think our players are putting on weight in the weight room? I guess I haven’t had that concern.
That's ridiculous. Dok is ripped and has lost probably 30+ pounds since arriving on campus. This is from the preseason.

You think that dude back center looks fat?!? He tore a wrist ligament in a freak collision in practice. His feet and back are just fine. If Kansas had him they'd still be Top 5 in the nation.
