I'm really thrown off by the growing discussion of this. I see Myron Medcalf has put his two cents in. I didn't think twice when I saw Hoiberg was going to be there. We know he's an ISU fan and Prohm has stressed the history of the program. I guess it's probably easier during a good season and coming off of a big win.

Anecdotally, the newer fans don't value Fred like the old guard. He was my favorite player (and everyone else's at that time) growing up, and I'll always think of him first as "The Mayor" on those Orr/Floyd teams. I don't think anyone hates him, but some fans think of him as the coach that left ISU for the NBA.

Over/under on ESPN camera shots of Fred during the game? It's going to be obnoxious.

I'll be at the game so I don't have to worry about that

When we hanging Georges' jersey?
Safe to assume this would be done during the non-con to boost ticket sales?
Omitting Monte at this point because I assume Georges will be first given the year of seniority.

Bulls fans everywhere hate him.

NBA people voted him dead last as a coach. So I think other nba teams loved him, so there’s that.
Fans should hate GarPax more than any coach they've had recently. The moves they made while Hoiberg was coach were awful. Hoiberg had no control over the players on the roster. He was a $25M dead man walking.

When are we hanging Fizer and Tinsley's jersey's? I don't know who is in charge of this but who was the last person to have their jersey hung? Hoiberg?

Who cares?

#Prohmtrain

People are obsessed with Fred on this board.

I was shocked to see the winner of DPOTD (Dumb Post of the Day) be the 3rd in thread. Good job. You did it. You're a winner.

You know when the Celtics were terrible, people still thought Brad Stevens was brilliant.

No clue if this is accurate, but it's often been said that the player has to graduate from ISU, which Fizer and Tinsley didn't do.

Niang is the poster child for getting a jersey retired. Checks all of the boxes.

Barry Stevens' jersey was retired in 2008. Hoiberg's was retired in 1997, two years after he graduated.

Welcome back, Fred! Thank you again for your years as a legendary player and coach here at ISU. You re-energized Cyclone Nation's love and appreciation of the Johnny Orr era and returned basketball success to Ames. Glad to have you back in Hilton in a role to sit back and enjoy it all, and watch Prohm elevate the Cyclone basketball lore to even greater heights.

Sorry things didn't work out in Chitown, but alas, I don't judge you for chasing your dreams. I don't judge you for leaving Ames. I don't judge you for the unfortunate existence of our Rashad Vaughn thread here on CF. But I do judge your parenting skills. How do you sleep at night knowing your children don Jayhawk and Spartan gear?

Right after Ejim, who holds more accolades, like Big 12 Player of the Year and being the living poster child for scholar-athletes and awards.

Maybe he can give Prohm some tips on how to underachieve with a roster containing several future NBA players.

Which Big 12 tournament title and 2nd place finish did he underachieve with? CSP is doing a
fine job this year and has the opportunity to get a Big 12 regular season title....which would be incredible. But this type of comment is why the Prohm/Hoiberg debate continues to ensue. And it comes from both sides.

I could be wrong, but I believe you must graduate from Iowa State to be eligible for this honor. I don't believe Tinsley ever graduated. I'm less certain about Fizer.
