We have looked like a tired team the last 2 games. I have no problem with taking a few days off.

lots of 3 pointers that are a foot short, some time 2 feet. Can't hurt to try and reset. They had won the last couple games with hustle and defense. Today they didn't have either.

They're a top 25ish team and will have ups and downs...today was just weird though.

That is weird how ISU has that kind of a thing with just screwing it up when it's 'there'. I remember the 14-15 group had things rolling to start conference play then went back into dysfunction at Tech. That was who they were.

Maybe they did just hit a wall, but man today was pull your hair out frustrating. Hopefully we get some rest and have a nice finish to the season.

I bet you this team is in the gym shooting a bunch during their "off days" this week even if it is not scheduled as an official team function. This loss has to be humbling and I fully expect a focused and determined team when they play KSU next weekend. The defense is where this team needs to improve on between games. This was by far the worst defensive effort they have put forth this season. You don't lose many games at Hilton when you score 83 points.

I don't think you reflect too much on the game tape of this game other than before the next time we play TCU. You go over the tape once early in the week and hit the reset button and focus on what you did wrong against KSU most of this week.

I will continue to point this **** out because people need to read it. Look at Michigan state last week. A good team who had a ******* terrible week. Indiana is worse than TCU. Illinois certainly is. Tech went through a rough stretch.

Sometimes we have to step back and pretend we only follow this team casually. Would we think any other team that had our week this week was screwed and fatally flawed? Of course not. We’d laugh about it and move on.

Now if we play that bad the rest of the way, we are screwed. But there’s no evidence that we will.

But that's the point. If the effort wasn't there, that's reason enough to be embarrassed. Hopefully it's a lesson learned and they come out for blood next week.

I will guarantee what was said in the locker room, and what will be said at meetings and practice this will convey that message.

We will see what happens the rest of the way. But this week is the last chance for them to catch their collective breath before the mad dash to the end. There are 8 guaranteed games left. It’s been a grind to this point. We will see what we’re made of.

You guys are now coming up with BS excuses like fatigue for the loss. TCU is a hell of a lot more depleted than we are and I didn’t see fatigue problems from them.

Bottom line is we’ve been exposed the last few games and the playbook for beating us (or at least marginalizing our play) is now known.

I don’t think a few days off will make any difference.

Good thing this doesn’t affect your favorite team then.

This team has been better than top 25ish to this point.

Worst game this season, even worse than Iowa. No excuses, got their asses kicked in all phases today. No fight or fire or pride.

Days happen where you are not at your best and figure out a way. We’ve done that the last week. Sometimes it’s just not there. They got deflated.

After reading threads more, I wonder if the team did just hit a wall. It's a bad, bad loss, but maybe the week of rest will help us reset. We'll see how we finish, and hopefully have some fun memories when the season is said and done.

I think this is what's behind the days off this week. Giving the guys some time to rest and recuperate, but I think he's also implicitly telling them "this time is yours, how are you responding?"

I remember how somber the guys were in the KSU postgame, then came out focused in Lubbock the next game, so we know they're capable of bouncing back.

Idk if it was a lack of will and effort or tired legs, but we were a step slow today, outside of Cam and MJ.

Not sure if people have focused on this but Cam Lard was exceptional yesterday as
far as effort. He will need to excel at a high level in the next few weeks.

Agreed. I think the fans got a bit carried away with Big 12 conference talk after Monday/Tuesday results. We are a solid team but you can’t lose multiple home games and win this conference. This is a Top 20-25 squad with a range of seeds from #4 to #7 in the tourney. Nothing wrong with that.

Carried away? This is the year to win it, if there has ever been one. KU is waaay down, and could still win the damb thing, even though it has been decided by the fans as well as the media, that we have the most talent. Settling for anything less than 1st in this league, accepting pi$$ poor efforts like yesterday should not be tolerated. I don't care that we finished last a year ago, this years team is primed! I do not think anyone thinking or hoping to win the Big 12 reg season title is carried away by any stretch of the imagination.

On the subject of yesterday, many of you think the team appears tired and needs a rest. Why doesn't Prohm put in fresher legs? Lewis and Talley have sat almost the whole Big 12 season, they could easily have been used yesterday. THT, Wigginton, and Shayok were ice cold for most of the day, maybe Lewis could have came in and hit a few shots? Talley came in and looked more than decent. Maybe Prohm uses the bye week to figure out a lineup in which utilizing both Jacobson and Lard can work? The time for adjustments is here and it is about to pass us by. Prohm needs to act, because opportunities like this don't come around very often.

Couldn't agree more with everything you said. This year is the culmination of a deep talented roster coming together. We lose our two best players, Lindell and THT might decide to test the NBA waters, although its blatantly obvious neither of them are NBA players and would likely waste away in the D-league if they left after this year.

Kansas will have everyone healthy next year so should be back to normal. I don't think winning a conference title in 8 years is too much to ask with the talent we've had under Hoiberg and Prohm, but the sad reality is we arent even close to winning a Big 12 title.

We had a legitimate shot this year with Kansas struggling, but of course we come out and lose to a team that had just lost its last 3 games by 18 points on average, and hadnt won a road game against a ranked opponent since 1998.

Add all this up and its complete disappointment to say the least.

14-15 season the champ (KU) was 13-5 to win it, so the opportunity was there too. ISU became a mess at Tech and let it slip vs. Baylor that season and there's your streak.

This year's team has plenty of limitations so just automatically expecting a conference title again is just not right.

Besides the fact that we just totally had our asses handed to us, the most disappointing thing to me is that we failed so miserably on the exact thing you would expect to have been the major point of focus the past week: cutting off dribble penetration and pick and roll defense.

I've been a Cyclone for 40 years, and have loved every minute of it. With everything we've been through as fans, I'm constantly surprised how poorly so many of you handle a setback.

This team was picked for last in the conference. It has been a pretty special year, no matter what you think of the play yesterday.

Pull your **** together.
