When Spring fever hits and a snowstorm hits in April. Hate when it's called a winter storm while watching the weather on TV. ITS not winter anymore, call it something else

When older people talk about how winters had more snow and were always colder when they where kids. Sure there were bad winters then too but if you look at the records its not always the case. Its like one weather event when they were kids defined 2 or 3 winters.

She will stop right in front of the door and knock if off so you have big, dirty ice chunks right in front of your garage door.

I couldn't get my wife to knock her stuff off, but she at least now will call me if I'm home and I'll go out and knock it off. The other thing I do is keep a wet vac in the garage to suck up everything, and she will do a little of that.

I'll tell you what I'm sick of. With 4 kids, I am getting sick of bundling them up every time we have to go outside. My god, a simple trip to the store requires a good 20 minutes of prep work to get the kids outside. I long for the day I tell the little heathens to slip on some flip flops and we are gone .

Meh, I will take the snow and cold as long as I don't have to deal with multiple ice storms like my BIL seems to have to deal with every winter in the KC area. I'll take snow before ice every day - and twice on Sundays.

I've heard this a lot, but I think it is way overblown. I've been in KC a little over 10 years now and have probably experienced one or two major ice storms in that time. We get much less snow, it is usually gone in a day or two, and the average winter temps are around 10 degrees warmer than central Iowa. When they even forecast any kind of snow the whole town cancels everything so you rarely have to go out and battle the elements. I wouldn't want to trade back to Iowa winters.

This past week of weather has been brutal. It’s either been extremely cold/windy or snowing

Fair enough. I know my Missouri born SIL is a pansy, but my Iowa born BIL has talked about many small ice storms (not the major ones you are mentioning) that totally screw everything up. It doesn't take much for it to be a total charlie foxtrot. My wife has talked about a desire to move down that way but I am not interested.

This cannot be overstated.

I concur; I've lived in Kansas City for a couple years, and their "storms" are just normal snowfall compared to Iowa. Since I purchased my house, I have never shoveled my driveway because it usually melts in a couple of days. My first job in KC, there was like a dusting of snow, maybe an inch or two, and there was a colleague of mine who stayed home because of the "Bad Weather". People in Kansas City don't know what true winter is like.

The snow we got a couple weekends ago was bad, I had a tree limp that got too heavy and fell on my cable and internet lines in my backyard. It took down about 30 feet of gutters on the house that I now have to replace.

People who exaggerate the duration and severity of winter and *****, complain, and whine the whole time.

Grow a pair and shut the **** up. Or leave. No one put a gun to your head.

I'm one that'll complain about winter, for the sole fact that I dislike cold weather, but you won't find me griping about hot summers. Some will find something to ***** about no matter when. In the winter, some will say "oh I can't wait for warmer weather." Then summer comes and they'll complain it's too hot. I love Spring, Summer, and Fall; I can do a week of snow during the winter around Christmas, then adios.

This was like a $500 Craftsman that is about 7 or 8 years old and never ran smooth or well. Shakes and shimmies and had to have the pull cable removed because it cause electrical arcs between the handlebars. I’m thinking maybe it’s time to give up and buy new. What did u have that u put $200 into it?
This might actually be a flux capacitor.

Not sure if that was just a joke or a "I don't know what that is" buried in a joke. In the latter case this guy will show you what I am talking about.

Tell me it was just a joke even if it wasn't.

Who owns a pink snow blower?

Less because of the ice storms and more because Missouri.

I'm from the UP of Michigan and let me tell you, stories from there are no joke. I've got pictures of my grandfather using the snow blower on his roof and a really old picture of and his father standing next to the power lines as there was only about 6-8 feet of telephone pole sticking out.
